Feeling the heat and humidity tonight so while I'm up I'll chat to my online friends!
This block for Civil War Bride has taken me a long time.... I've been lucky if I sew one leaf in a night - and you can see there were a lot of leaves!!
I did make lots of masks.....
Christmas ones......
This is my Happy Christmas face!
I made these little pouches for a group of stitching friends... there were 6 in total ....
a sewing girl on each side... they can be used for glasses, rotary cutters, knick knacks etc and have those clever little metal squeeze closures.....
... went down very well .....
I am planning on lots of my own sewing over the next couple of weeks....
Splendid Sampler was made in 2016 ... and has a backing pieced from the left over fabrics (and a couple of extra blocks)
I have loaded her on the frame ...
My Sista's (Mama Tembo) was made in 2019 but it is too big for the frame so I have pinned it and will quilt on the Sweet Sixteen....
It's hard on the shoulders so when I need a break I can stand up and play on the frame... that room is such a fun place
I also want to go through cupboards and sort out UFO's etc - I do like to have some sort of plan/list to work on. I know I have been tempted by a few quilts and projects and not started them.
Righto, Gotto Go, I am yawning away now..... hopefully will drop off quickly
Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week.....xx
Yea - it is ao hot & humid - I am very grateful for my air con.
ReplyDeleteI really do love your Civil War block - Reproductions really do not do it for me - as you know - but I do really like yours - it's more colorful than some I see.
I am sure the trifles went down well - imagine not wanting sherry !!! LOL
Cute little pouches too - love those fabrics.
Good luck sorting & planning - you do it so well!
Merry Christmas to you & Dave

Love the Civil War block, it's so pretty - and worth the time it took to make! I suspect we will be back in indoor masks again before too long and we've only been out of them for a week....sigh......yes, 'tis the season of peace, goodwill and lots of sewing!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Bride block. The masks look good & i love those pouches. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteLove your CWB block. Gorgeous! Love your Happy Christmas face with Grinch! LOLLL The little pouches are just adorable. I'm the big hair girl in the blue dress. Yep, that's me, lol. They are so much fun. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteLOVE your latest civil war bride block. The colours you have chosen look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIt would be great if the temp dropped to winter levels at night so we could sleep well. A few hot days here and I'm already done.
your masks are so cute- very designer.
can't wait to see your finished quilts. Enjoy and look forward to seeing your list.
You look very stylish in your Christmas mask. I’m slack and am just using the disposables. It does look like you are having fun in your sewing room and the Civil War Bride block is looking stunning, as they all do. Good luck with your planning for bnext year.
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty block Fiona. Masks, I fear, will be with us for some time to come so good to ring the changes. Great fun pouches for your friends and proper trifle too! It will be good to see those old friends quilted up - and maybe more to come in the new year! Enjoy your 'me' stitching. xx
ReplyDeleteWow so many leaves to needle turn, very colourful masks, I made some back at the beginning, but a lot of places refused entry unless you had the medical ones. I´m sure everyone enjoyed your trifle, wonder if much stitching was done lol. enjoy planning your future stitching xcx
ReplyDeleteI hope you managed to get back to sleep. Your masks look great, the Christmas ones are a good idea.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your quilting.
