Christmas has been and gone... it was a quiet affair here with lots of family calls and a lunch with YD and widget.
Otherwise a restful time which means I got time in my sewing room...
I have neglected "From The Heart" for many months ... this is block 7 done...
Lots of Splendid Sampler blocks have been quilted.... the last two rows (20 blocks) and the bottom border are left.....
This year I made a quilt using William Morris fabrics and a buttercup yellow... I always sew two seams when it's possible to save the corners for another project.
So I pressed my little offcuts and I am slowly going through lots of little HST's to trim them down nice and straight (cutting at 1 1/2"). Mindless and good having an audio book to listen to.
I mini wholecloth has been planned and drawn out. (this is supposed to be part of a BOM which I got very far behind) The design was a museum in Pedukah which I am never likely to see so I am just doing my own.... Then hopefully I will get fired up to do the other blocks. (this one is April!!!) This is a start on my UFO pile!!!
Mama Tembo is more or less done on the Sweet Sixteen.... I am very lucky in that I don't need to put things away and this means I can pop in and out and do 20 minutes in between those other chores to be done in a home... Binding needs to be made....
The Ewe block is so cute. Love it. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with block 7 "From the Heart". I too usually listen to an audio book while trimming HSTs. Wonder what they'll become.
ReplyDeleteAre you trying to say you have run out of UFOs? WHAAAAAATTT!?? You're the only person I know that can even pretend to that, hahaha. Well, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and start something new. Enjoy! ;^)
All the projects look just wonderful Fiona ... you sure do churn out some work!! Wishing you a wonderful festive season ... I have been down to my Mums but now that I am home again, I am keen to get in to my sewing room. 😊
ReplyDeleteWell done, Fiona! A quiet time for us......I made a pretty quilt from trimmed triangles, just couldn't bring myself to throw them out.
ReplyDeleteGood progress Fiona - a couple of finishes this week I think. xx

It's been lovely to have some sewing time. I really should be getting ready for the new term, lol. Have you got a list of UFOs for this year?
ReplyDeleteThere are quite a few fun things going on in your sewing room, Fiona. Hope you are having a great week!
ReplyDeleteYou have some lovely projects lined up to work on...I look forward to seeing them progress to the finish line.

ReplyDeleteall the best ....... and heaps of love back to you - you are making a good start on your kits/WIPs etc.
ReplyDeleteI love that beautiful appliqued block. Looks like a busy new year ahead for you in the sewing room.
ReplyDeleteFrom The Heart looks so sweet.....Splendid Sampler is such a huge job! Can you hear me screaming at the thought of those teeny HSTs. Now if we can only not get distracted by new shiny things the UFOs might stand a chance lol! Happy New Year my lovely friend xxxx
ReplyDeleteWonderful block and projects. I am finally getting my room cleaned and organized, so hoping to do more quilting this year.
