Starting to hear Sleigh Bells....

I do love my handmade Christmas ornies and gifties

Michelle made both this ornie and the card - look at those tiny stitches in the plum pudding!

What a great idea from Maria sending a book mark.... the corner fits on the pages.... love it

One of the popular fund raisers here is a meat tray at a Pub... we went to a pub for lunch on Sunday and I got the winning ticket.... dinners for a week!  Wonderful. (I felt I deserved it after paying for a new water heating system!!)

We have had the sausages and the chicken so far... both delicious and we will be going to the Paddock for more!

The Echinacea is the central bed in the garden I have been sewing......

My Moxie longarm does not come with bells and whistles.... and the wadding which 'floats was dragging on the ground on bigger quilts.....

So off to my sewing machine I went with some old lace curtains!

... and now the wadding has a hammock to lie in while it is waiting ....

Hubz even found the old kiddie safe cupboard door latches to recycle and use... so I can attach and detach as I need to....

... and here is a year's worth of flower beds .... I did a simple low hedge border

the patterns for one bed a week were generously provided free by Clare from The Steady Thread (there were 3 other layouts to choose from) and I used variegated thread from Cottage Garden Threads.

.... even put my initials in the bottom border....

I am going to do a thin border of lime green and then add the upholstery weight fabric to make this into a cushion....

Blackwork was the technique I chose to learn this last year and joined in with a few Brisbane friends online  to cheer one another along.... we are also doing the 'sweets' together but taking a short break to cope with the business of December....

Righto, Gotto Go... that quilt that is loaded on the Moxie is waiting for attention - at least the wadding is happy swinging in its hammock!

Beautiful handmade ornies there Fiona - I love handmade Christmas too! I think your hammock idea is ingenious & perfect to hold the batting. I love your stitchery - could you please tell me the name of the Cottage Garden thread you have used?

Lots of beautiful things on your post today. Gorgeous gifts from your friends and well done on winning the meat tray at the raffle.
We've been to a couple of ham raffles this past fortnight, but no luck. I'd better just buy a ham and save myself the trouble haha

I love your Blackwork Fiona, Mum used to do a lot - in more traditional colours, so it's been interesting watching yours grow - and well done on keeping up/finishing! Lovely ornament and book corners in the mail - I'm never as organised as the rest of the gals to get things in the post on time! Great idea with Moxie's trailing skirts. Congrats on the meat pack - a yummy win!
