Friday was FNWF hosted by Cheryll... thank you so much..
We were away from home.... my Christmas present from Hubby was a weekend away... but I didn't know where....
A couple of hours drive and we stopped off for a lovely view of the Glass house Mountains....
lovely big trees and vines....
lots of frogs and beetles as you can hear in the video... and the green cat bird... (not seen but heard) - not a sound one would want to hear alone at night in the forest!!!
went out to a local pub for supper... what a great veiw as the sun went down....
Breakfast the next day out on the deck..... quinoa porridge done in coconut milk and vanilla with fresh fruit, toasted nuts and coconut.... fresh squeezed juice.... soooooooo good.....
The bird aviaries were fun... but so busy... they were letting in so many people and we were being marched though.. disappointing....
they are amazing birds .... Personally I am not a fan of caged birds and animals.... but these did have lovely big aviaries and it does mean we get a chance to see exotic birds....
The trip was 5 crochet squares, 2 scrubbie's and 3 dust cloths long.... (we spent our evening back at the B & B quietly relaxing and I knit on the car trips......)
I love this entrance to our B&B - the doors were done by a local woodcarver.... just gorgeous...
Guineafowl roaming freely....
but it was fun having this beautiful fellow sit on my shoulder....
I only paddle and the water was so lovely and warm.....
Looks like a fabulous weekend away & a lovely place to visit. Love the toilet roll holder. Hugs, xx

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely weekend......before having to head back to everyday reality, always a let down1
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Christmas present. I remember visiting the Glasshouse Mountains and surrounding area quite a few years ago. A beautiful part of the world. I love your trip measuring stick.
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking us along with you on your trip. I really enjoyed it. What lovely sites you visited. I know pictures can never capture the immensity of a mountain landscape but I got the feeling it was grandiose. Those wooden doors are spectacular. Love the turtle, lol. Enjoy your rest at home. ;^)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend away Fiona. How special of your husband to surprise you with that. My Mum & I had two holidays staying up in that area in the past & we always really enjoyed ourselves - it is such a pretty area.
ReplyDeleteNow that was a very thoughtful and enjoyable Christmas gift. What a lovely way to spend the weekend. I didn’t know about those gardens. Somewhere to visit next time we are in the area.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your wonderful little vacation! What a beautiful place, and I love those wood carvings. I've discovered that watching wood-turning videos on YouTube are very relaxing and help me to sleep better, plus it is so interesting to watch someone doing a completely different craft than my own. I hope you have a wonderful week :)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, that toilet roll holder is so cool! Looks like you had a lovely weekend away! xx
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a lovely location. What a wonderful Christmas present!
ReplyDeletewhat a great christmas present! looks like you had a great time away
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful weekend - a great Christmas present. I have never heard of a Pademelon before, lovely that you got to see them - interesting that they didn't disappear when they saw/heard you coming. And a beautiful place to stay - what a view and inspiring surroundings. Hehe I like how you measure the length of your stay by the amount of knitting/crochet done!!
