Cheryll is hosting a WOOFA challenge to help us keep on going with UFO's..... no finish needed (but nice) but just progress...
This month I have a few projects I want progress on...
GARDEN SUNSHINE
I am a few months behind this one... which is now finished so I have spent some time cutting and sewing....
These two blocks are finished....
This was a free BOM in 2019 from Quilt Doodle Designs.... very sweet and 12" blocks so manageable and not too challenging.
There are 3 more blocks which are semi prepared... I have done some of the machine piecing but they all need some embroidery to get done.
UNITED STITCHES
This is quite an ongoing project... and quite a few more to be done but if I can finish a few more this month I will be happy...
This sweet block is finished....
… but anymore are going to wait until I have done the Garden Sunshine ones.....
SCRAPPY TUMBLERS
Last year I attacked my scrap baskets and pulled out any scrap that was 6 inches or bigger and cut up tumbler blocks....
This will be my leader/ender project....
I am not usually good about leader enders as I get impatient and just sew them. I am using multicoloured fabrics and had an almost new cotton sheet (the light fabric with roses) so I am going to space out the blocks with it.....
Another project that will be ongoing but any progress is good.....
Righto, Gotto Go... holiday is over and back to quilting jobs.....
You have some very pretty projects to be making progress on. Have fun.

Lovely blocks in the Garden Sunshine quilt. The stitchery is so cute. It looks like watermelon slice flowers between the trees. So cute! I always have a leader-ender by my side. When I run out, I make a 9-Patch block. I need a gazillion of those because there's 3 quilts I want to make ... eventually! I especially appreciate them when sewing long seams ... and a little leader-ender at the end. Enjoy! ;^)
ReplyDeleteI'm like you with leader/enders. They end up becoming the main project because they are always right next to the machine and I'm looking at them and thinking about them. Hey, maybe I'll just stitch up the rest and make a top! I really like that very first block at the top of this post. Are you making more than two of them? I wonder what a whole quilt of them would look like. Probably some interesting secondary patterns, but I'm terrible at seeing that in my mind's eye. I can look at most quilts and figure out how they're made, but can't look at one block and see how 40 would look together :)
ReplyDeleteThat should keep you busy for a while
ReplyDeleteHello Fiona,
ReplyDeleteI want to come and hide in your sewing room, so much inspiration. Have fun with your projects.
Happy days.
Bev.
I think leaders and enders need to become the main project at some stage, unless you want a king sized quilt! I do like the tumbler block, as it is simple to cut and just need to sew into rows, so I might steal this idea from you! My current Leader and ender project is too complicated - so its going on the WIP list!
