I have been doing the embroidery sections of these Garden Sunshine blocks over the last week and this weekend I made up the Flying Geese blocks to go with them
These blocks are 12 1/2" square
I also brought out my Wings and Pretty Things (Michelle Ridgway design) to plan another block
(there are still 10 more to do)
I noticed my little corner butterflies didn't have their feelers so those got stitched...
One of Hubz work colleagues became a Grandmother for the first time a little while ago.... after a bit of discussion with her we decided on this cute panel.....
No sewing needed on the panel so I got to quilting around the edges of the animals today.
Just the binding to make and attach now
My little mini quilt was finally used to make up this postcard
I had a bit of fun with variegated thread to make up the bushes and then brown thread to create textured bark on the trees.
The quilt hangs loose on the line…..
It is now winging it's way over the seas and far away to a new home …
I get it stamped and franked at the post office and then put it into a cellophane sealed bag....
This little quilted flower was made up into another postcard whilst I had my little machine that does satin stitch out....
When there is lots of tight quilting like that its good and stiff for a postcard.
Needless to say I had a happy weekend playing in my sewing room.....
I hope you had a happy weekend doing what you love to do....
That panel will make a fun and colourful baby quilt.
ReplyDeleteAnd quite quickly too.

Your blocks are so beautiful. Lots of sewing and hand stitching too. The last little postcard is just charming. Unlike you, I'm neglecting my sewing room lately. Enjoy! ;^)
