Firstly a quick message for Kathleen - thanks for your comments. They come as no reply and there is nothing on your profile for me to message back. I really appreciate your comments though. Thanks....
Last week I hand stitched down the last of my circles.....
… when I counted them up I have exactly 200 of them.... so I will make it 14 x 14 blocks.... which will make it a 56" square quilt, though I am likely to end up adding some borders
I'm in no rush to put it together so in the meantime they can sit in a box and wait patiently for me....
Hubz had some work towards Sunshine Coast way.... being the considerate wife I am I accompanied him..... while he went to work I entertained myself.....
I really, really love the coast …... lunch with friends the next day before coming home again
I did take a bit of stitching to do also.... this is from our Stitchers Dream Day Out last year... a UFO that needs completing....
I have some simple knitting for in the car... I need something I don't need to continually watch what I am doing.... it was a 2 cloth trip each way!
Black dishcloths is a bit out of the ordinary... but I was given a bunch of cotton yarn so I am using that....
Today I worked on more UFO's.…. these are some sweet fabric shapes I got last year... I did a bunch of them but Debbie suggested having lavender bags in project containers to keep them smelling fresh (while waiting for some attention)
So I stuffed these while sitting under the aircon watching a movie (Hello, My Name is Doris with Sally Field - was quite fun!)
… and I also finished these other 2 zippy bags which were hanging over from last year (pattern by Natalie Bird) - and another lavender bag which got missed
So all in all lots done. I have to admit the UFO's really didn't have much that needed doing, it does make me wonder why I didn't just get them finished at the time!
Righto, Gotto Go ….. time to do something about tonights meal....
Your circles are lovely! It's a lovely keepsake from your trip all those lovely Batiks. Lucky you getting your toes in the sand! Some lovely ufos crossed off now xx
ReplyDeleteIt's a great feeling to get things finished! Love the little bags.
ReplyDeleteSew good to complete some sweet UFOs..
ReplyDeleteHmm!!Wonder how long the Circles will be hiding in the box ???
You do make the most of all your time - either home or away and travelling. Well done working on so many projects.
ReplyDeleteYou have done loads of work, all beautiful. Glad you got the chance of a trip and got good weather :)
ReplyDeleteAt least they are finished now! Love your circles......they will make an interesting quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love your circles; lots of gorgeous fabric in there. I like the idea of keeping lavender sachets with projects. I have to get my hands on some lavender. :^D I am so in love with the little mousey zippy bags. Too cute!! ;^)

ReplyDeleteLovely circles. Love the lavender sachets & a great idea to put them with projects. Those little zip bags are so cute. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteThose lavender bags are a good idea to keep with the UFO's.
ReplyDeleteSome do get put away for a very long time.
The zippy bags are very cute.
And I concur, knitting in the car is a lot easier than sewing for me too.
The circles are really beautiful with the fabrics and colors.
ReplyDeleteYou have got a lot done, beautiful stitching and finished pieces.
Always nice to get to the ocean, just something about the fresh air, always makes me feel better.
Debbie
Jonathan likes black so I did him some black facecloths, lol. Quite an achievement to get 200 circles, they look fantastic in that box
ReplyDeleteSo good to cross off UFO's, it is human nature to stop when just a little more needs doing and move onto something else, I reckon anyway!! Loving your circles, must get something done with mine! Good to see you had some time at the beach, the dish cloths look great.
ReplyDeleteThose lavender bags are so cute. I too wonder sometimes why a project became a UFO. Probably just put it away for guests and wound up getting distracted by a new project.
ReplyDeleteIs that the Pacific Ocean? Did you see me waving from California? I'm visiting family here and so am way behind on visiting blogs. I love those little zippy pouches with the mice. I'm glad you were able to finish them up quickly. Isn't it funny how we put things away when they are so close to being done? Hope your cooler weather lasts for a while. Your garden seems to enjoy it :)
