I set out for ChooseDay sewing with my Granny Squares all ready in their rows..... my trusty bread tags labelling where which block was to go.....
I have joined them all with 2" (finished) sashing and still need to cut the rest to go along the rows and round the edges....
My next project was making market bags.... I am using up some pieces of fabric that I have - some of it too heavy for quilts
I found some pet mesh in a local hardware store - its the same polyester vinyl but the mesh was a little finer than I have used previously - and it only came in black …
but it was a bit cheaper
Two for me and two for local daughter.....
A couple of years ago I was gifted this sweet kit....
.. it has all the felt and thread with it...
This year I have joined Narelle in working on a Christmas Item each month and am planning to make up the ornaments in this kit
Last night I made up my first one..... sweet little snowman
I have prepped up a bundle of circles for pick up and go ….. useful for when I am at places where I need to wait....
Righto, Gotto Go.... need to pack up my circles as I have an appointment later today which came with a warning of being prepared to be there for several hours.....
Good morning my lovely friend, you sure have been busy, gee how good do your granny blocks look.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a great idea these bags are am sure DD will love her's.

You are sew organised! Love the bags, they look great and will be very handy.
ReplyDeleteHandwork is very useful for those 'sit and wait' times......loving the quilt.....and the bags are very flash. I have some fabric which isn't really suitable for quilts so might get to work making bags with it.
ReplyDeleteLove the market bags. The mitten is so cute. Hugs,xx
ReplyDeleteThose bags are great... & I love the mittens too... xox
ReplyDeleteI love your Granny Squares quilt. I really love the colours. Great work with the little snowman mitten too. Hope your appointment wasn't too long. ;^)

Wonderful quilt and marking is a smart idea, usually I lay mine out and take a photo, but I tend to mess up and put the wrong ones together, lol. Love the woolly projects, those are also fun to do and I am trying to do Christmas all year too.
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Your granny squares are looking great and I love those market bags xx
ReplyDeleteLucky you had the circles ready to go, hope you did not have to wait too long. Your market bags look wonderful, they will be super useful. Your quilt blocks together look great too, they are going to make a lovely quilt. Cute little snowman.
ReplyDeleteLove the bags, you can shop in style now :)
ReplyDeleteGreat progress on the granny squares. And well done getting the shopping bags done, too.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see the kit being used and the first ornie done. So cute.
Granny looks great! As do your bags. Circles are so portable xx
ReplyDeleteGreat quilt, and lovely bags makes shopping more colourful. I always take something with me, usually get quite a few looks but it whiles away the waiting time xcx
ReplyDeleteYour Granny Squares look great! Well done on more market bags - I'll have to hunt out that mesh (sure I said that last time I commented on them!!) - it's very effective. Such a cute little ornament. Productive as always, Fiona!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely projects. You'll have a nice new collection of Christmas ornaments this year - very cute. I love the shadowing on your shelves in your second photo. You and your daughter will be the stylish ones when you hit the shops with your new bags.
ReplyDeleteSweet little mittens! I hope you didn't have to wait too long for your appointment. Although then you'd get some circle stitching done, so maybe waiting wouldn't be too bad! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the bag/s - meant to comment on them...got sidetracked!
ReplyDeleteI hope the long wait produced a lot of sewing....
