Month end Makes.....

This month I started with one market bag... I had bought the mesh at a craft fair last year....

I also had some blue mesh so I made another...

My old peg bag was very sad and got retired and I made a new peg apron....

Then I bought a roll of mesh and made 4 more market bags....

… and a little ornament was made

Thanks to Kris for hosting OPAM ….

Lots of progress on projects...

United Stitches..... lots more to do of these...

The big one was putting together my Dutch Treat blocks.....

…. and some work on Blockheads but I am well behind again now....

… and I started a new project …..

… and another new project.....

… and have continued making my circles - this is my latest group ....

… and my Granny squares quilt top is mostly together.... it just needs borders now....

A good month …… I hope the rest of the year goes so craftily....

Righto, Gotto Go....

A day out the office....

Yesterday Hubz had work meetings in Brisbane and he offered to take me along and toss me out the car at Michelle's house....

First things first... a picture!  (we always forget).  I love Michelles home - always so welcoming

I did take my sewing..... and one petal was done.....

There was a bit of chatting... and Susan came by to fetch a quilt and have a cuppa and chitchat .... and we needed coffee, and tea, and lunch and say hello to Mumma possum … and then we had a swim, and then more tea... and then Hubz came and fetched me ….. and the day was gone...

My Wednesday appointment was only a 4 circle wait... not too bad at all.  I am now scheduled for surgery some time this year.... one step at a time.... nothing too serious - my gall bladder is to be removed.... bliming sore when it plays up

When I got home I was hot and bothered so I sat quietly sewed my rows of Granny Square blocks together..... I will do a border next....  I'm very happy with how it has come together

Righto, Gotto Go - lunch break is over and there is work to be done ....  it's a long weekend for us (Australia Day) - it will be hot so I think I will be indoors...

Busy week......

I set out for ChooseDay sewing with my Granny Squares all ready in their rows.....  my trusty bread tags labelling where which block was to go.....

I have joined them all with 2" (finished) sashing and still need to cut the rest to go along the rows and round the edges....

My next project was making market bags....  I am using up some pieces of fabric that I have - some of it too heavy for quilts

I found some pet mesh in a local hardware store - its the same polyester vinyl but the mesh was a little finer than I have used previously - and it only came in black …

but it was a bit cheaper

Two for me and two for local daughter.....

A couple of years ago I was gifted this sweet kit....

.. it has all the felt and thread with it...

This year I have joined Narelle in working on a Christmas Item each month and am planning to make up the ornaments in this kit

Last night I made up my first one..... sweet little snowman

I have prepped up a bundle of circles for pick up and go ….. useful for when I am at places where I need to wait....

Righto, Gotto Go.... need to pack up my circles as I have an appointment later today which came with a warning of being prepared to be there for several hours.....

FNSI and more.....

Thank you Wendy for hosting FNSI last night....  I took out Flowerville to work on.....

Here it is at the start....

… and this is how I ended the evening.... (I'm a slow stitcher… this was a few hours work)

… well not quite as I wanted to quickly finish this postcard.... I just had one long side of border to stitch....

This is my first stitchery for this years No Fuss Stitchalong

During the week I take 'smoko' breaks from my quilting work and usually spend it sewing for me....

I had some help from my animal friends to glue down ric-rac onto my stitchery....

…. and another day I sewed it all together.....

… my new peg bag/apron....

Made with a dishtowel folded up and then added on the  black webbing....

This is the sad bag it is replacing.....

…. it wasn't always sad... I found a picture of it when it was brand new and happy....

Righto, Gotto Go..... I want to arrange my Granny Squares this weekend.... so that I can have them in nice piles to add sashing next week....

… but first I will be off HERE to see what the other FNSI'ers got up to....

Tuesdays and Fridays.....

Tuesdays are my regular ChooseDay sewing day with a couple of girlfriends.....

This week I continued on my Granny Square blocks.....  these are the ones I sewed...

Here they are with the others I have done

Now I just need to trim them and then comes the sashing part.....

The blocks will finish at 8 1/2" so I think it will finish at about 60" square

For my evening sewing I started a replacement for my poor sad old peg bag...

This is a pattern by my friend Christine (one of the ChooseDay girls) and was in Homespun April 2016.

Since she was here at my house yesterday she taught me laced backstitch....(see on the collar - it's on the knickers too)

Here is my completed stitchery....

I'm not going to make a bag... but Christine gave me instructions how to make an apron using a dishcloth so I am going to do that.... with all the work in my stitchery I'm not going to leave it outside in our Queensland sun to rot like my other lovely bag

Friday nights are for sewing with friends too....

On the first Friday of each month Cheryll hosts

On the third Friday of each month Wendy hosts …..

this often coincides with Friday night sewing with friends at The Quilters Angel (my local quilt shop)

This Friday is FNSI  - anyone can join in.... just go off to Wendy's blog HERE and sign up.....

Same goes for FNWF - anyone can join in.... HERE is Cheryll's blog

It goes without saying that if you follow their blogs you will see the sign in pages each month.... it's a great reminder for me who has limited capacity of remembering....

Then sometime in the next couple of days do a blog post about what you did so the others who were there can visit and see what you got up to.... it's a great way to meet other bloggers and have a bit of fun..... and maybe get tempted with a few projects!!

I'm planning to work on my Flowerville blocks on Friday nights....

Everything I need is in a bag so whether I sew at home or elsewhere I can just pick up and go

Righto, Gotto Go..... I need to add dishtowel to my shopping list since I don't have anything suitable for my apron!
