I wanted to show you a picture of the birthday cake my daughter made for Widget..... I think it's just lovely... you can see he does too!!
On Friday I joined a group of other ladies sewing some bags.. these will be for children who arrive at Domestic Violence shelters with their mums... aren't they lovely..... drawstring bags and then filled with some toiletry items....
As with all groups, you have the few that sit and chat and stage themselves for photographs.... Sue is boss (far left with the blue cowl on) and she designed the drawstring bag....
.. this is where the work was really happening!!! ....
Kris didn't make it into these happy snaps but she was there too.... and between us and help from Steph and Marion at The Quilters Angel we got 28 bags done.... good work ladies...
If anyone is keen to make a bag I can send a pattern, and address where to post it to (I am happy to collect them and pass them on to Sue) ... and if anyone is keen to send fabric all it needs is two 10" by 12" pieces in kiddy fabric and the same size in lining fabric... so they don't take much.
These cooler evenings have been great for getting a start on the binding for this quilt ... should be ready to post in the next couple of days....
... something else I have been playing with are these origami butterflies.... they are just little but I love them and as usual prepped up a whole lot using scraps I had.... these are the first few
I used this tutorial HERE from a bloggy friend .... she has lots of lovely quilts to look at....
Righto, Gotto Go... Good Monday is calling ......
Gorgeous yummy looking cake and I'd be very happy to make some bags so I'd love the details.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the quilt you were binding....finished my binding last night, so I can get it in the post....are you doing the doll quilt swap? I have the two long borders to quilt on my Dugong quilt - god knows why but i used a stencil, worst idea ever as the pattern keeps rubbing off.
