I attended as much as I could of Chookyblue's Chookshed party......
This is an exert from Chookyblue's blog
just wondering if you could help with something please...............I don't usually post private family matters but some of you know this already...........my sister asked if I would post this.......
She has pancreatic cancer and the drugs she is on are not covered by the PBS (medicine subsidy scheme in Australia). She has been having chemo (3 weeks on 1 week off) for over 2 years now......one of the good drugs she is using and is really helping her is ABRAXANE................
It has been a great benefit to her............the first 8 weeks costs her about $10,000...................
If you have breast cancer you can have it at a low cost on the PBS but if you have pancreatic cancer you can't...........
There is a petition to take to the Government to get this drug available on the PBS for Pancreatic cancer patients too or any other cancer it may help not just one type.......
Can you please spread the word on you emails, facebook etc and sign the petition..........
they need more signatures to take it to government.............
they need more signatures to take it to government.............
who knows you may be the next person to needs this drug or someone you love........
I found this article to read too...........
I found this article to read too...........
.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue......... I would just love it if you would consider signing this petition.... thank you....... |

There seems to be lots of other things going on here so sadly I haven't been able to devote the weekend to the party.... but I popped in and out and of course the evenings TV is pretty boring so stitching was done...
It started a bit like this....
.... with a mess.....
... after a bit of tidying I did some tracing on some lovely fine linen (gift .. thanks Christine) ....
... my cutting table got borrowed .....
... and fortunately so did my laundry area so I just couldn't do any washing (sob, sob!)
.... I did partake at lunch time ... just a little....
... and sewed a few more squares.....
... the tracing is all done and the threads chosen...
... these will turn into a Christmas swag like this but in different colours..... one day ....
.... and last night I finished off this stitchery......
Today in between the beginnings of a new brew, trips to the tip to get rid of all that stuff we dug out the garden... I hope a little stitching will be done... and a bit of bubbly too.... and some visits to some of the other party goers ...
Righto, Gotto Go - I think I'll start with a cuppa.....
Cuppa sounds good. Think I need to join you. I need something to help me start this morning. Have a lovely day. Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteIt is so sad to hear about your friend's sister. All I can do is to pray for her and I will. God bless. Consider yourself hugged! XOXO

It's not really a mess just a creative background to fain inspiration! I think hubby needs a beer room of his own and while he was in there he could do the laundry. Looks like a great weekend at you place.

ReplyDeleteHi Fiona, oh how pretty the Christmas swag will be when it's done... I wish mrHS would make some brew in my laundry - then I wouldn't have to do washing... so have more sewing time... win/win in my opinion!!
