Making templates the old fashioned way....
... for secret stuff.....
I am still in quilting mood... so my manchook got some swirly winds around him....
... meanwhile we had our own swirly winds and menacing clouds (after a couple of horribly hot days again)
.. the radar was interesting... we live where that little purple dot is!
big chunks of ice falling from the sky..... we have a tin roof....
no major damage done... but it was noisy... and I don't like big loud noise....
... and half an hour later.. this beautiful pink haze over our land.....
... back to quilting....
this piece was gifted to me by a friend and I have added borders and now quilted it....
easier to see what I have done from the back...
the swirls are around the edge, orange peals for the vase and paisley for the flower arrangement
I don't suppose it is obvious I am having a lot of fun?????
Today I want to play with some blocks and sashing.....
Righto, Gotto Go.... my machine needs a clean and oil and tender loving attention after all that quilting....

I'm glad the storm passed quickly! I can only imagine how loud that must have been! LOL
lol you tease, boy what a storm, yes i must admit i hate the loud sound of hail on our tin roof, glad everything is okay, and yes you are having that much fun that i am thinking i should be doing a bit of FMQ ,think i am a bit scared, lol.have a lovely day my friend.xx
The storm clouds are just to the north of us this morning, we are supposed to get storms later. Love that Hawaiian fabric, what is it going to be?
Lots of quilty fun, Fiona. Have a lovely day with your blocks and sashing.
Hugs xx
that's one way to get some water?
as long as no damage was done.
you have finished the flower vase beautifully. Well done!
enjoy your blocks and sashing, look forward to seeing the end result!
Keep having fun..
Those are scary looking clouds, glad it was just an ice storm and everyone is safe.

Lovely quilting Fiona , you really have mastered FMQ ! Wow that is one angry sky and large ice pellets too . Have fun with your borders . Hugs Sheila
That was quite a noisy storm last night. We did not get the hail in Brisbane and not much rain either. Only 3ml which was disappointing but at least it has cooled it down a bit. Great quilting!

Very strange weather indeed! Your are obviously enjoying your quilting, great results.
I hate storms, but the sky is so pretty!
Mr chicken looks very suspicious of all that swirling around him. Hope he doesn't get carried away like Dorothy.
Glad the storm clouds had a pink lining, and no damage was done.
Enjoy your new blocks.
It would have been very loud and a bit scary with that hail storm. The sky looked beautiful later.. You certainly seem to be having fun with all your quilting. Enjoy your days.
WOW! What a storm! Glad it didn't last long. Love the quilting.
We all seem to be having rather strange weather patterns, I don't like storms either. Great quilting, enjoy your blocks and sashing
Think our weather has gone a bit crazy Fiona. Lots of lovely quilting happening at your place
Your quilting looks fabulous. Practice makes perfect.
As always - such a busy lady! and such clever quilting.
We are still having the rain - but no major storm over us this time.
You're doing a beautiful job with your quilting!
Some days, you just have to thank your lucky stars for the kind of roofing you've managed in your homes. This doesn't mean you cannot build upon what you've already got. With an escalating weather, it's pretty paramount to recalibrate the strategies and really build up a roof that will endure and will defy the elements.

Lovely quilting and the vase patchwork is gorgeous. Like your sky pictures before and after the storm - I do love a good storm but then here they are never that dangerous! Glad all is well for you. Xx
I love hail storms, provided I am safe inside, they feel so exciting! Anyway not a nice way to water the garden after the heatwave! Great FMQ around the rooster and the colour wash flowers. Have fun with your next project!
Man chook! Oh dear! Was watching some very random tv program on foxtel last night and they had a transgender chicken who lived in the basement....
Crazy weather, secret sewing and chooks!! What more could you want?
Goodness... what a storm! Love your man chook, he is gorgeous!!! xxx
Love the quilting. I just enjoy seeing the wide range of projects you're working on, no time for boredom here x
