Secrets, Storms and ..... Sewing...

Making templates the old fashioned way....

... for secret stuff.....

I am still in quilting mood... so my manchook got some swirly winds around him....

... meanwhile we had our own swirly winds and menacing clouds (after a couple of horribly hot days again)

.. the radar was interesting... we live where that little purple dot is!

big chunks of ice falling from the sky..... we have a tin roof....

no major damage done... but it was noisy... and I don't like big loud noise....

... and half an hour later.. this beautiful pink haze over our land.....

... back to quilting....

this piece was gifted to me by a friend and I have added borders and now quilted it....

easier to see what I have done from the back...

the swirls are around the edge, orange peals for the vase and paisley for the flower arrangement

I don't suppose it is obvious I am having a lot of fun?????

Today I want to play with some blocks and sashing.....

Righto, Gotto Go.... my machine needs a clean and oil and tender loving attention after all that quilting....

  3. The storm clouds are just to the north of us this morning, we are supposed to get storms later. Love that Hawaiian fabric, what is it going to be?

  8. That was quite a noisy storm last night. We did not get the hail in Brisbane and not much rain either. Only 3ml which was disappointing but at least it has cooled it down a bit. Great quilting!

  11. Mr chicken looks very suspicious of all that swirling around him. Hope he doesn't get carried away like Dorothy.
Glad the storm clouds had a pink lining, and no damage was done.
    Enjoy your new blocks.

  19. Some days, you just have to thank your lucky stars for the kind of roofing you've managed in your homes. This doesn't mean you cannot build upon what you've already got. With an escalating weather, it's pretty paramount to recalibrate the strategies and really build up a roof that will endure and will defy the elements.

  20. Lovely quilting and the vase patchwork is gorgeous. Like your sky pictures before and after the storm - I do love a good storm but then here they are never that dangerous! Glad all is well for you. Xx

  21. I love hail storms, provided I am safe inside, they feel so exciting! Anyway not a nice way to water the garden after the heatwave! Great FMQ around the rooster and the colour wash flowers. Have fun with your next project!
