All sorts.....

Susan and I did a little trade

she wanted some funky squares to finish off a quilt
and I wanted some strips for my scrappy trip

I got the best of the deal... loads of strips

I cut up a lovely pile of 2 1/2" strips for the quilt
and I got lots of 2 1/2" squares out of the scraps
and some other scraps left over too!

My sister in law had a birthday whilst she has been to stay, my daughter put together lots of little butterfly cupcakes.. - they are so sweet and pretty....

I am doing a nine-patch swap coordinated by Trish over the next 6 months... this is my February block.... 14 of these have been made... at the end of it we will all swap and end up with loads of different blocks... what fun

one day we went to the coast to a market.... this python was in a tree above a stall - it had just had a possum for lunch....

Righto, Gotto Go...... quiet house, guests gone, gotto keep busy busy

I think I will sew some strips today

  1. All those strips will keep you busy. Your daughter has done a great job on the cupcakes, the icing looks delicious. Great 9 patch, it will be interesting to see them all at the end. As for the python, what a greedy boy!

  3. Hello Fiona,

Baking and stripping always something going on in your home. The fabrics you got will make a great quilt. Now here I was thinking the only good thing about snakes is that they don't fly, here they are climbing trees, I would run a mile, even though I know these do a good job of keeping mice etc at bay. Have a great weekend Fiona.
    Happy days.

Lucky that fat python didn't fall out the tree, imagine the damage it would do.

  20. Such lovely strips!! I just received my own little package of scraps from a dear quilty friend too this week - it is a LOVELY surprise going through them!! Yours look delightful!! ... The cupcakes are gorgeous - though I'm not sure I'd be too happy being that close to a python ... fed or not!! ... Lol! You're very brave, dear Fi!! :) Hugs!

  22. Beautiful butterfly cakes, very special! Love the idea of swapping fabric, seems like everyone was happy. The reproducion 9 patches make me green with envy - I love 9 patch and reproduction, wish I had joined in on that swap! I am sure you are going to get an amazing collection to make a wonderful quilt. We currently have an infestation of rats that ate ALL of my corn cobs in the vegie garden, so a python to eat the rats would be very welcome here! Mind you the possums have disappeared (only after eating all my rose buds and performing ballets on the roof at night), so perhaps we do have pythons in Adelaide and he has a tummy ache?!
