..... about having this quilt finished....
Butterfly Garden - design by Leanne Beasley....
full of butterflies .....
and daisies....
and lovely words....
and sweet stitcheries....
looks perfect with spring growth .....
I used a wool/polyester blend wadding - it gives the extra loft I wanted
you can see the quilting on the back - I did lots of stitch in the ditch around the applique - and some details in them... meandering over the rest and some fun quilting in some of the backstitched blocks
this picture is not so clear but I did a mini feather wreath and little feathers in the triangles
fits over the top of a queen bed comfortably....
This quilt was my first needleturn work ..... all the blocks were different and such a pleasure to make....
I will miss doing it....
I am imagining visits by my grandiegirls and we can spend time playing and looking at the different things on this quilt....
This was a UFO from last year... so it goes towards my Sew It's Finished item for September
Righto, Gotto Go...... I have the pins free for "My Favourite Things"........

That is the PRETTIEST quilt I have ever seen. So many fabulous touches added to make it sweet and feminine and loving and comforting - you'll have so much fun snuggling and playing with the grandies!
ReplyDeleteFiona you have done a wonderful job on Leanne's design, it's understandable that when you work on such a piece for so long that you would get attached to it. Your Butterfly Garden will bring you a lot of enjoyment in future, that will be your reward for completing it so beautifully. Well Done My Friend... x
