June means Winter has 'started'

We needed to light the fire in May prior to the 'official' start of winter here.  A definite chill in the air,  and soup recipes, jeans and jumpers, electric blankets, hot showers and wood fire season is here......  I do love it when I am not watching footy from the sidelines in the wind!

This weeks machine sewing has been the main blocks for Candy Blossoms (using Quick Curve Ruler), and I have started sewing the sashings on......

This is the pattern from a book by Sew Kind of Wonderful..... looks quite different in my colours

My zig-zag blanket is finished!

Visiting UK grandson will be pleased with this, just in time for the cold weather here.... it's ended up a good size, this is on a double bed.

It actually goes quite well with the picture up in that spare room (perhaps he will forget to pack it????)

I had chosen 15 different balls of yarn some time ago and swapped them for the colours chosen by Attic24 so I could follow her sequence.

I will miss having this blanket on my lap these evenings.  I have taken out my embroidered table runner to work on now ....

Today I managed to go to Embroidery group and continued with the hardanger hearts border..... only to discover after sewing 10 hearts that I had made a mistake... so today I actually did more reversing than progress!  I was going to fudge it but June, the tutor warned me it would come back and bite me if I didn't fix it!

That's my sewing week, hope you have had some fun too.... xx

Righto, Gotto Go, I have boring grocery shopping to do ......

Those curves are very effective. I love the ripple blanket and I'm sure your grand son will too.

Yep--I know that feeling of deciding whether to unpick or to keep going--happens alot as I get older and older--if I go back and undo--though I am always happier later in the pattern--

The curvy quilt top looks great and I prefer your colours…
Fabulous finish on the crocheted ripple blanket and I don’t think UK grandson will leave it behind…
Oh no not good having to undo all your hard work on the hearts….
Guess you need to start another crochet project in order to keep your knees warm ….
