Last FNWF for the year.... the time has flown. Thanks Cheryll for a year of fun - even if we can't physically get together I find it motivating to plan something for the evening, show it off and see what others have done at the same time.....
Last night I continued on my coloured black work and sewed some Slipper Orchids...
They weren't quite finished so I stitched the last few petals this morning whilst I had my first coffee....
I have one left to do and a simple pathway around the edge.... a lovely sewalong done via F/B - I know I am going to be greatly tempted to join in again next year... I loved sewing it.
This week we had our Quilt Group Christmas lunch - there were over 70 of us and it was a bit noisy!!! Those who want to can join in with a small decoration swap .... ...
I received this tree....
I just love it..... look at all that work in it!
So now I have a tree in the house..... sorry to the Christmasophiles but that is the only decoration up at the moment!
I forgot to take a picture of the ornament and door hanger I made.
Sew day with some friends got me making up the blocks for my Mandala quilt.... two quilts will happen, a cot one with the light fabrics and a lap one with the darker ones.
We also got a brand new heating system! The other one was leaking.... It looks very smart but I would have preferred that $ in fabric! (wouldn't say that in winter though)
The nice red spot binding was added to this quilt.... I still have the hand sewing to do one of these fine days ....

The little tree you received at your Quilt Group gathering is so cute. And I know I've told you before...but your hand stitching is amazing. Have a lovely weekend.
Love the little tree, it is very cute. The coloured black work is beautiful. I'd be tempted to join too next year. :) Hugs, xx
I love everything you are working on Fiona (as usual). The new heating system will be wonderful come next winter but Yes they are not cheap!! I adore the wee tree you got at your quilt break up - just so sweet. We did not do a decorations swap this year & I missed it. xx
I've enjoyed watching your black work grow...and the little "tree" is gorgeous.
Thanks for joining in each 1st Friday with FNwF too. See you again in 2022.
Oh and I love seeing all the projects you work on as well...xox
That little tree is one piece of art all right! Wow! So cute! Love to see the blackwork piece again. Looking forward to seeing it all finished. ;^)
Such a cute Christmas tree and lovely work on the slipper orchids.
one tree is better than none..
look forward to seeing your coloured work all finished, it's so pretty.
The red binding looks gorgeous with the 1930's fabrics and a great start on your mandala quilts-two for the price of one! lol
That's a cute tree! Oh yes, we know those house repairs are necessary......but do they have to cost so much? Just think of all that fabric......
Lovely blackwork - looking forward now to seeing next years project! What a great little tree. xx
Lovely colourful blackwork….
Good progress with the blocks for the two quilts.
Enjoy doing the binding….
Quite a productive week of lovely projects. I loooove your tree!
Wow a busy time, I love the tree. The Mandala quilt looks interesting.
I love your tree - like you there are no decorations up here, apart from the card hanger which now has a few cards - but I do need to get into it as Christmas is at my place this year (so it seems..LOL) and Luka is old enough now to appreciate a tree and decorations...!
I do love your blackwork project...
You have done a wonderful job on your sampler. The Christmas tree is lovely...it will definitely get you in the festive mood! Gorgeous red binding for your quilt xx
The tree decoration is lovely, clever person who made that. Your stitching on the flowers is great too, will, be lovely to see the whole piece. Great idea doing two quilts at once.
What a cute tree!! You will be happy for the hot water in winter.. but I feel your pain with the expense!! xx
You’ve done so well to keep with your blackwork. The little tree is very cute, but too fiddle for me to make. Fiona will be pleased to see you are making good use of the fabric. .
