In October 2018 I did the last of my reverse applique Dutch Treat blocks - sewing started in early 2016 ..... then they were joined together and sat brewing in a box...
Finally I have taken it out for quilting...
Using rulers I am doing frames around each block and some curves in the border.... keeping it simple (though ruler work still takes me a while) so the applique remains the feature..... I have the binding and a peeper ready made to finish it off.......
On Friday for FNWF (thanks Cheryll for having us) I carried on with my Christmas decorations and did do a bit of my crochet.... it's taken a very back stage again but it does feel gorgeous...
The colour I am using at the moment is called Pistachio.... I almost need the aircon on at freezing to want it on my lap to work on at the moment.....
We had over 50mls of rain last night..... lovely steady rain for hours.... and more predicted. So great for us but I do feel for the farmers trying to harvest their first decent crops after years of drought....
The rain also helps the weeds so Hubz and I did a bit of sorting that over the weekend - never ending job....
Righto, Gotto Go.... have a wonderful week....xx
I remember you working on those fiddly blocks and they are all lovely. Be great to see your quilt finished.
ReplyDeleteI do like the colours of your crochet 🧶…
Rain and weeds go together , I know. 😣
I bet it feels good to get it done, it looks wonderful. Pretty crotchet too. I've picked it up again of late. Kind of made up the stitch and found it hard to remember how I did it. Finally worked it out.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your week.
It will be lovely to see your Dutch treat all finished. Gorgeous colours in your crochet. I'm glad we are getting the rain but i'm over pruning the bushes that have gone crazy with it all, oh yes & removing those dreaded weeds. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteI remember those blocks, they are very pretty.....will be good to have it done! Love the Pistachio too, because.....green. We had over 70 mls of rain yesterday and last night, the weeds have been rubbing their hands with glee.
ReplyDeleteIt will be nice to get your Dutch Treat blocks closer to the finish line. Yummy colours in your crocheting.
ReplyDeleteI’d love to see up close quilting when you’re done. I’m a beginner at longarming and like seeing what others do.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it was that long ago that you were doing your Dutch Treat blocks!!! Nice to see them out again and being quilted. I love the colours in your crochet afghan. It sounds like the temperatures have really warmed up for you - ours are just starting to.
ReplyDeleteCatching up on all the wonderful work you have been doing this season. Seeing how your area is all in bloom while ours is winding down, a nice way to enjoy spring from afar.
