Our Spring weather has been up and down - hot and cold, windy and calm, cloudy and sunny, wet and dry...
I found this little cutlery table being sold locally on Marketplace ....
I like that it has a lid and I can put my sewing in there..... and a shelf underneath for those important things I like to have next to me....
it was fixed up with a rather thick piece of timber so Hubz has taken that off and is replacing it..... then will polish up the table and it will become my new chairside table ... (the plan is that it then won't be such a messy space?????????)
I have done a fair bit of quilting and this is one of my own...
As there is a lot of Maori themed stamps in the blocks I went with a hook and swirl quilting... quite large...
It is backed with some loose weave sheeting fabric..... makes a nice light throw...
Tuesday this week I sewed a few more half hexagons together and when I got home added them to the ones I have...... the plan is to fill that hole next week.... still lots more to add on
I had got behind in my blackwork 'lollies' sewing with the Inchie girls so these are the ones for last month
... now to do the next 4 for this month...
today I am making a mess and preparing another block for Civil War Bride, a favourite technique of mine (needleturn) but neglected of late....
Righto, Gotto Go... coffee is finished and that mess awaits....

A nice pickup in that side table. You have lots of lovely projects to keep you busy for a while. Love the "lollies".
Love your little sidetable. I found a cutlery table (no shelf) many years ago with the cutlery section still in it but i never put cutlery in i just used it as a little table. I ended up giving it to my brother who fixed the damage & he uses it as a sidetable next to his lounge chair. Maybe i should tell him to give it back. :) Lovely projects. Hugs, xx
what a lovely new table, will suit it's new purpose very nicely.
Great quilting and blackwork. So nice to see a field journal block.
Can't wait to see your new Civil War Bride block!
Such a great pick up and the cutlery table will be nice next to your chair…
Lovely quilting on your quilt.
Lots of progress on your projects.
My sewing table looks like yours as I’m trying to work on three projects 🥺
Love your new table, it will be very useful....my table is a slightly rickety folding one, but it works! Your blackwork embroidery is coming along beautifully, so is your pretty flower embroidery. As a part-Kiwi I approve of your quilting too.
Your little side table is a gem. Great idea to use it for your sewing too. Your projects are coming along beautifully. Love the blackwork with a touch of blue. Awesome! ;^)
Great pick up with the table Fiona. Hee hee a mess shows you are busy and productive!
You are doing some lovely stitching.
OOhh great find...& I'm sure hubby will work wonders on the table.
Lovely lot of sewing on the go...so enjoy the weekend doing some of it...xox
What a great idea to use the cutlery canteen as a side table. It’s a really nice piece of furniture and unusual having the bottom shelf. You’ll be very organised when doing your hand stitching. It’s nice to see all the different projects your poking along with.
Wonderful projects.....the side table is a great idea, we so tend to get messy spots near our chairs....
Thats going to be a lovely side table. I would stil manage to be super untidy lol! Lots of lovely stitching and quilting xx
Wow! So many projects girl! Love your new table. Perfectly repurposed. Your half hexies project is looking lovely reminding me of the tumbling blocks pattern. Love your blackwork and colour? work. Field Journal embroidery is beautiful. Everything is beautiful!
Great piece of furniture. That will be very useful. Well spotted.
You have so many wonderful projects on the go. Love seeing the field journal blocks every time you finish one. They are always stunning.
Good luck with your preparation.
You do keep good and busy, Fiona! And such variety!
