My little mini block that I posted off has gone missing..... so I have sewn up a new one for Maureen with no blog, and posted it off, hopefully with the correct address this time!!
This measures 2 x 2.5 inches and there are 6 petals as there were 6 of us in the stitching along group....
The last few days has been shutdown in some areas and masks on for the whole state. I made a bunch more masks.
Some are sold but most of them are gone to my daughter who works in the city and she has given to some of the folk who are homeless and wanted fabric masks .....
They are simple 2 layers but with a pocket if anyone wants more.... not fashion pieces but functional.
Not the most comfortable accessory... I recently thought I was so tech savvy doing my payments through my phone.. till today when the blasted phone camera doesn't recognise me with my mask on!!! Fluffing around in the queue with irritated other people behind me. Was a bit funny!
Yesterday was Hubz's birthday so of course I needed to bake a cake.... he does like chocolate cake and I had been given a few eggs so they went on too.... dessert is sorted for the weekend
Month end is time to show what WOOFA project I did.... my turnabout quilt has been waiting as a top for some time so now it is quilted and bound.... I do love it quite a lot though I am sorry I didn't do more blocks and make it a little bit bigger...
This alphabet quilt is another one that got finished.... I actually didn't make this top but it was passed on to me many years ago to finish off.....
Thanks Cheryll for hosting WOOFA and the gentle nudges to find projects that need working on.
Other finishes for the month include
Autumn mini quilt sent to Maria....
Embroidery sampler board....
I felt like I haven't accomplished much.. but when I look back I can see a fair bit has been done.... so no reason to grumble...
Easter is upon us, I am sad our plans of having a son and 2 grandieboys to stay has had to change... but no doubt we will find a jigsaw, and some sewing... and a few jobs around the house to do... and perhaps a visit from daughter and widget...
Righto, Gotto Go...... a few more masks to finish off so I can tidy up that spot....
Take care and have a lovely weekend.....
A very productive month. Happy birthday to your hubs....enjoy the cake and hope that you can celebrate with some of the family. Take care.
ReplyDeleteYou have achieved lots for the month Fiona. I am wondering if the mini block will turn up now that you have made & sent another one? I did read you had just had another Lockdown in your State - the masks will be wonderful. Someone wrote that a good old chucks multi cloth is the best thing for putting inside them - these can also be washed if needed. Hope you have a lovely Easter despite your restrictions. xx
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you got heaps done in March!
ReplyDeleteVery productive month, my dear. You should be proud! I have to make more masks too and I am tired of making them. What kind of string or elastic do you use for yours? I love chocolate cake too you know. Wink! Enjoy the weekend. ;^)
ReplyDeleteSo annoying when mail goes astray but the replacement one looks great.
ReplyDeleteBoy you've done well with mask making . I've only made one for hubby and I but so far haven't needed them..
Yes you have completed quiet a lot for March.Well done..
Sorry your plans to have your boys didn't work, Hopefully soon.
Happy Birthday hubz and that's a delicious cake...
Yeh, lots of beautiful finishes. Congratulations, was a productive month.
ReplyDeleteI'd be happy to accomplish a quarter of what you have, well done!
ReplyDeleteMasks have been on my sewing list too.
Happy Birthday to Hubz ... lucky man having a such a good cook xx
All wonderful finishes. What a shame your block went missing, and very good of you to do another one.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to hubby and hope he enjoyed the cake. lovely to see your finishes.
Such a shame your block got lost. Pretty flower though. So we are back in 'semi-confinement' although mask wearing has never gone away. Your masks look pretty to me. xx
ReplyDeleteI hate sewing masks, so good for you for getting some made! They are so important, but frustrating that you need more now. At least there's no shortage of scrap fabric to make them from, right? :)
ReplyDeleteLove the inchie - I'll bet the other one turns up now - but a lovely idea to do 6 petals.
ReplyDeleteI've recently acquired a fabric mask - so much more comfortable than those disposable ones..I probably should have made some . . but just didn't get to it.
excellent month's work - and hopefully you will get to see your son & family before too long.
I am sure you managed to entertain yourselves. At least it isn't 8 months lol. We survived. Love your masks. I am still wearing masks even though they are not currently compulsary again because a lot of people are not social distancing as still required. I am hoping we will not be locked down again this coming winter due to foolish people. You have done heaps girl! All your projects are lovely. Yummy cake. It was my birthday on Good Friday and I never had a cake but at least there was a lot of chocolate in the house lol. I hope you can see your family soon.
ReplyDeleteI hope you ended up having a nice Easter, disappointing when plans have to change through events out of your control. You achieved a lot in the month - well done!!
