Naive Melody is designed by Lucy Engels and is, I think my first real modern style quilt.
However I am using an old traditional method of needleturn applique to do the shapes.....
The light background fabrics are from my leftovers drawer ..... (as opposed to scraps which are smaller pieces!)
I am using a lovely range called Terra Australia by Emma Jean ....
These are the 20 blocks I did for November ....
Righto, Gotto Go, long day voting yesterday but my work is done..... relax day today.....
It's a good thing you mentioned the kangaroo because I would have missed it. I got the lizards right away, but couldn't find the kangaroos. They were too close I guess, haha! Enjoy your break today. ;^)
ReplyDeleteYou are using beautiful fabrics Fiona and making great progress. Enjoy your day off.
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice that about the fabrics...how neat! It is looking fantastic!

ReplyDeleteI like that, has the feel of hieroglyphics
ReplyDeleteDefinitely different to your usual style, it is a great range of fabric. I have a couple of jelly rolls waiting for the right project for me to use them on. It will be a nice vibrant quilt.
ReplyDeleteHow fun to mix these bright, new modern fabrics with traditional applique! I'm so glad you're having a good time working on this piece :)
