We have Bi-elections in our area at the moment and I am assisting the pre-poll..... working full time again is a shock to my senses! I do enjoy the process of democracy we have here and lovely co-workers to chat to during down times.
I still have time to do some of my hand stitching at night and on a day off I put together some blocks
These are the final blocks for the latest border of my 'Love' quilt
two of these flower blocks were needed.....
I love this cute little mouse....
One thin border is written incorrectly in the book and I hadn't looked at the picture where it was correct so that blue border is a ring in, having removed the one I had initially put there...
It is brighter than I had wanted but I think it works... and I have enough of it that I can use it for the binding which will tie it in better.....
I think it may be a while before I can get to working on the final border of half dresdens... they are pointy dresdens so I will do it by machine rather than EPP. I will need to do a bit of working out to make the adaption work for me.
After joining up the blocks on my day off I sat and binge watched the Second season of Big Little Lies whilst catching up on my Wish You Well embroideries for November
I was quite simply too tired to do anything else ........
Righto, home things to get done and I can hear magpie calling for her snacks.... she is back to jumping on my lap to get them which is sweet. I want to give her a stroke but I think that might give her a fright....
Have a lovely week
Working full time would be a shock to the system but great to hear you are enjoying it. Your stitcheries are beautiful, I like the blue border in your Love quilt. The little mouse is cute.
ReplyDeleteAs always, your stitches are amazing. Love the little mouse too. Great job, Fiona. Have a great week. ;^)
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is looking so beautiful Fiona & Yes - I adore that wee mouse too. I'm not sure how I would go working full time again ... it would sure be a shock to the system!!
ReplyDeleteI don’t think I could work full time so well done you!
ReplyDeleteI do like the blue you used in the Love quilt and WHEN you get to the binding it will be even better.
Sweet wee meece..
Nice to have your feathered friend back to visit. Maybe in time you can pat her? The
WOW such a lot of work. Beautiful. You have done a great job on getting your feathered friend to sit on your knee. That would have taken a lot of time and patience.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is so beautiful and I love the appliqued mouse. Big Little Lies is a really good show . I binged it too lol. Have you watched Nicole Kidman's new weekly series with Hugh Grant?
ReplyDeleteThat blue works really well - being slightly brighter, it lifts your quilt up. Yes, working full time when you haven't done it for a while is a great shock to the system!
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt! I retired 6 years ago and it took me 2 minutes to adjust. I don’t think my system could take returning to work.
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern for the stitcheries? I tried to search you blog, but I’m hopeless.
ReplyDeleteWorking everyday would certainly be very tiring. Your quilt is gorgeous! I am glad you could chill out in your down time. Maggie knows shes on to a good thing xx
ReplyDeleteI like that blue border, frames the inner section beautifully. It is all looking gorgeous. xx
ReplyDeleteGood for you, working at the polls! Glad to see democracy working well *somewhere* in the world :)
ReplyDeleteThe blocks are looking great. Love that mouse. It is great to see the quilt top is developing. I like that blue border.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you still managing some sewing time in your day.
They are all looking beautiful. I’d better put a note I. My book that the border is incorrect.
