I finished another banner block.... very sweet design
Last weekend we went to Hervey Bay (about 4 hours drive from home) and stayed in a unit just above the harbour
We were there to catch up with my cousin whom I have not seen for over 10 years.... he is here working from New Zealand where his wife and daughters are and due to Covid19 they are away from each other....
Anyhow we still managed to get together and celebrate his 60th birthday with a special trip...
.... out in a Catamaran to see the whales...
I only have my iphone as a camera and pictures don't do any justice to what a wonderful time we had...
must have seen over 20 whales... who looped and splashed and breached and did everything to keep us happy...
The following day we had a nice walk on the pier which is one of the longest piers in Australia, about 1km long....
lots of fishermen and women making some great catches, and we could see lots of big and little fish as well as rays and sharks.....
I crocheted up a few more rows of my blanket while we travelled and read a bit of my book in the mornings....
came back home and our pots of orchids are doing their thing... masses of tiny little flowers.... just beautiful...
So a lovely weekend.... and now we are back to reality, food has to be cooked instead of just ordered ....
Righto, Gotto Go... I do need to defrost a burger for tonight....
Sweet stitchery, they will look lovely when you put them together.

It must have been lovely to catch up for a special "0" birthday. Pretty stitchery. The best part of going away for me is not having to think about, prepare or clean up after a meal.
ReplyDeleteI am pleased you were able to catch up with family and help with celebrations.
ReplyDeleteThe whale watching looks like it was very successful. Perfect conditions and lots of whales performing at the right time. Love it!

ReplyDeleteI love your whale photos! How lucky you were to see so many leaping like that! We've seen a few here in Maine but they only come up to breathe. It's still exciting for us, though :)
