Lucky lucky me....

Many of you know Michelle and her wonderful art she posts about HERE....

A friend of hers gave her a resource photo and Michelle has done this gorgeous Lilac Breasted Roller and gifted it to me...

It is an African bird and really full of these beautiful shiny colours.... Michelle has captured them so well and you can see the feather detail... amazing work...

I will need to get a frame for it... will have to think about how best to show it off

Thanks Michelle, it is very treasured

Meantime I stitched up an Australian bird.... our lovely Kookaburra ...  this is part of Field Journal and this colour used is Kookaburra!

... and this colour is Pansy....

Yesterday I felt like baking (doesn't happen often!) .... I adore date and nut loaf and I have these lovely old fashioned round nut tins... they cut into lovely circle pieces which I think is fun....

Luckily the recipe makes more than one loaf.... they disappear rather quickly round here.

Righto, Gotto go.... coffee and a slice of date loaf for me....

  1. Not sure if it's painted or coloured crayons, but that bird is just spectacular! Bravo, Michelle! Love your bird in stitchery too. Enjoy the bread ... or is it already all gone! ;^)

  4. That is a beautiful painting and wonderful gift. I would keep the frame simple so it doesn't distract from the painting. Your stitcheries are beautiful too, I need to start sketching again.
