April Monthlies.....

This months Sunday Stitchers UFO group was for #2 which was my circles quilt.... I had all my circles in a box...

I joined up 196 circle blocks (4 1/2")

then bordered it in navy ... and there is navy binding...  I also managed to get metreage of one of the fabrics I had used in the circles on sale so that will be used for the backing...

a few leftover circle blocks got made into coasters.....

One Christmas Item per month ....

I made up this little mat... a pattern I was given ages ago with a pre-printed stitchery....

.. and I ended up completing all my little snowman hearts....  so I'm ahead of schedule till December!!!

I expect I will find other Christmas things to make though!

Meanwhile we had Easter and I made this little table runner using some pre-sewn strip scraps that I had..... I am into using up my stash of scraps at the moment

This little Angel picture was a freebie from The Quilters Angel so I made it up for my sewing room

My WOOFA project this month was to finish the hand stitching and make up this little wallhanging for my sewing room

... and continue with making my pineapple blocks.... which are all done and the top is together.  My teal, pink and purple scrap baskets are empty!!! I will have to rectify that!

This quilt top was made from a selection of 12" squares I had ... plus some pretty Tilda metreage

... and I was able to put together this little baby quilt using the left over squares from when I cut the pinwheels out

Works in Progress

Field Journal

such lovely botanical pictures to stitch...

I didn't get as many of these done as I had planned... but that's because a new project led me astray!

I am linking up with WOOFA (thanks Cheryll), OPAM (thanks Kris), One Christmas Item (thanks Narelle) and the Sunday Stitchers (thanks ladies) ....  I do love sewing with others....

Shutdown has been good for me... I have got on with lots of things, and doing a lot more cyber catch ups....

Yes, shutdown hasn't been entirely wasted! Your circles would make cute Christmas gifts and could use up bits of leftover Chrissy fabric at the same time, you know......

WoW Fiona... I'm exhausted just ReaDinG all the projects you either worked on OR finished. Well done... now I'm off for a NaP :)

Yes like Cheryll just reading what you've worked on makes me weary...
Beautiful stitchery finishes and some more flimsy to add to the quilting pile.
Sew good to have our sewing while in isolation...

I am totally breathless!! Your accomplishments are wonderfully varied. I, too, have been stash busting this past winter season (while residing in our little warm Texas cottage) and have gotten several Christmas gift projects completed, along with several donation quilts (already gone to new homes) and many many masks! Hope you are well (we are!). Hugs............

G'day Fiona,
Let me begin by saying I have followed you for a number of years - especially in the days when my blog - a stitch today, the rest tomorrow was operational and current... The first and last entry for 2020 was Jan 1st... And now 5 months on - I wouldn't know where to start... Hasn't our world changed???
But I digress,
I noticed that you and I have fallen down a couple of the same rabbit holes namely, the Cottage Garden Journal Quilt and more recently Gail Pan's isew quilt (although I must say I saw it first here on your page and super sleuthed it back :) ) I only signed up for it this past week so I have all the blocks including May... I need to do a hunt through my stash for a colour palette which shouldn't be too hard as I went through a stage a few years ago and bought lots of bits and pieces - especially fat 1/4's. And since I am not a quilter - but rather a dabbler - it will be an interesting exercise to put it all together...
I am mainly a cross stitcher but from time to time wander off the beaten track to try other things - embroidery been one of them...

Now if I may a question... The Friendship stitchery banner may I have some details please... Is it a Roslie Quinn design? It looks like some of her work but I wasn't sure... I still have got quite a few of her designs which I haven't had the heart to stitch... Although I didn't know Roslie very well I was saddened when she passed away... Such a loss for the stitching quilting world...

I look forward to reading your blog each time it comes to the top of my blog feed - you always have such interesting things under your needle and you seem very productive with the things that you do.
I have not been actively involved with blogging for a few years - however visiting yours and seeing your progressional photos of your pieces has made me think seriously of doing a spring clean and revamp of mine as blogging does help in keeping a record of sorts of...

Now, that I have rabbited on to you I will say goodbye...

Take care

Sharon - Melbourne (wet, cold and miserable)
