My annual bus trip to the Craft and Quilt Fair in Brisbane happened yesterday - I had a lovely time catching up with these two - Susan and Michelle. Of course we bumped into a few other people here and there.
Ran out of time for looking at the quilts.... no pictures this time as the sign said so! But they were so inspiring.
I spent quite a lot of time looking at stand up long arm quilting machines.... I am dreaming. Lovely that they let you have a bit of a play …
Meanwhile back at home another 4 Dutch Treat blocks are completed..... oh my gosh I have 8 left to do!!!
Over the weekend Hubz worked hard in our new shade house.... planted various climbers.... I couldn't resist buying a couple of frog ties from our local hardware... can you see them in there?
He also shopped, filled and hung a bunch of hanging baskets.... although it is still dry we are going to try and just get a few plants established.
… and while he was doing that I cut up my black and white scraps into various length strips...
I will work on it to make that quilt showing in the picture ….. actually I made a good start on that on Tuesday when sewing with the girls.
As you can see the basket is almost empty - just a couple of bigger pieces left in there....
… most of them are overflowing….
we also changed the plug (thank goodness for video link and plumber son to talk us though this)
… and I killed a lizard! (not good)
Righto, Gotto Go, back to dreaming working …...
Love the DT blocks...wow only 8 to go, that is fantastic!! Good luck with the plants, hope they thrive for you. Looking forward to seeing your black and white creation.

What a shame you can't take photos, would have loved to see them. I had an artist let me use one of her designs for a rug, but I could not show it online. It really helps them to get more business, so not sure why.
ReplyDeleteYour new blocks and bags are wonderful.
Debbie
Your shade house is going to look fab once it's all established, a refreshing little retreat. It must be so satisfying getting emptying a scrap basket. You'll just have to do a quilt for each colour!
ReplyDeleteSew nice to have spent a fun day in Brisbane with Michelle and friends..
ReplyDeleteDidn't see any treasures you may have brought home !!! Were you a good girl ??
