This weekend we stayed at home... there was lot of those silly little jobs that needed doing and we both just wanted to chill out quietly....
Of course I can't just do NOTHING.....
I finished off some feather plumes that I had started on ChooseDay with the girls..... I now have all I need and tomorrow I will put in the spines and background fabrics ... then I can play with the settings....
I also finished adding the borders to my photographic safari prints - and I also trimmed them all so now I need space on my design board to set them out and start sewing them together..... there are lots of duplicates but that won't matter.....
Handstitching has finished off this Angel Story block.... the flying school...
... and also some chain stitch handles for ridiculously small baskets......
I was sewing while we watched "Goodbye Christopher Robin" - I had to keep stopping cos I needed lots of tissues....
Some of our chores were outside - and the weather is just perfect for it... raking up leaves, composting, old branches to the tip etc etc.... (I only raked!)
My little variegated bouganvillea is looking pretty at the moment and I just loved the contrast of colours in this picture.... if you look carefully you can spot a kookaburra in the old gum tree - I think it was laughing at me raking!
Well, that was my weekend and happy playtime... now it's Monday and I need to get back to doing some real work! At least that requires sewing too!
Now my quilt top is finished I have this pattern if anyone would like it.... it ends up about 66 x 80 and required quite a lot of fabric as it is cut on the bias - so lots of leftovers too for mini projects!
It's not a thick pattern so I'm happy to post it off to you.... let me know if you would like it and I'll choose a name if there is more than one person ...

Love your feather blocks. Can't wait to see what your plan is for them. It looks like a fun school to go to. I bet she's the sweetest teacher ever. Awesome job with the stitches. Have a wonderful week. ♥ ;^)
A very productive weekend. So nice to have flowers in your garden at this time of year. We played in our garden too, tidying up for winter and planting for spring. Only a tiny bit of stitching here.
I leave the outside stuff to DH - I don't do it correctly!! so it seems.
Such gorgeous things happen up there.
Such beautiful weather at the moment - hope the kookaburra hangs around a bit.

That sounds like a lovely weekend Fiona... your feathers look great & Angels Story block is so sweet... gorgeous projects x
Love your feathers! And the safari quilt is going to be awesome. I had forgotten about that style of block, and may need to use it soon. Your bougainvillea is beautiful!! I did a lot of chores this weekend also, so now I can sew all week with a clean conscience!
What I nice idea to give your patterns away when done. I should gather mine up and do that. Realistically I won't make them again. Too many others to do - why repeat?
It does sound like a productive weekend with a nice mix of sewing and outside chores. The perpective of your 'Kookaburra' photo is gorgeous. All the projects you are working on are lovely...I have a feather pattern I've been wanting to make for ages - thank you for reminding me that I have it!! I love how yours is shaping up! And sweet Angel block too :-)

Lots of lovlies Fiona - the feathers are looking great and the chain stitch handles on the baskets are perfect. xx
Those feathers look like a big flock flitted through your sewing room and each left you a perfect tail feather! That's going to be such a lovely piece, both realistic and colorful :)

Sounds like a busy and productive weekend Fiona, you have lots of beautiful projects on the go there, the feathers are beautiful, love the flying school. Maybe the kookaburra thought your raking might turn up some food for it?
Always beautiful work Fiona ... especially love your feathers.
Missing our catch up this week :(
Sometimes staying at home is the perfect way to spend a weekend. I especially love the rare days when I don't have to walk out the gate.
Looks like you were very productive and made the most of your time. Love all your projects.
