Cushion and a Scrappy Beach scene....

My other cushion is now completed .... all they needed was the binding being done so the start of a New Year was a good time for a couple of quick finishes....

I have now made 3 cushions in the same sort of style, using up stitcheries from Rosalie Deckers Scandanavian Rose quilt  and some scraps from a French General range of fabrics...  I did need to purchase a bit of extra red for borders and bindings....

I'm very happy with them and they suit our sitting area well....

Last week I feel in love with another of Rosalie's designs.... this one is called Flowerville.  I was lucky enough to be asked by Marion to quilt one and whilst doing it fell in love with it....

The pattern and kit is from The Quilters Angel..... I don't even have to choose the colours etc this time....

It's very soft and pretty and a lovely gift to myself.....

Quite a lot of fiddly quilting in it.... but I think it shows off the stitcheries and the dresdens nicely enough...

I have progressed a bit on my beach hut scene.... by scribbling some 'sand' on the beach....

.. and adding some foam to the edge of the sea.....

Before I overdo things on this I'm going to put it aside until I'm ready to quilt it......

Righto, Gotto Go... there's all those little spare huts I'm going to make up ... a bathmat and a couple of tray cloths coming up......

  1. Love the pillows--great job in getting them finished, even if you did have to shop for red fabric to finish them!!! And I love your houses on the beach scene--how delightful that is--great job!!! Makes me want to make one too--
    enjoy, di

  2. The lace "foam" is brilliant! Very realistic. I love your stitchery pillows! Since I can't embroider to save my life, your stitcheries seem too special to get lost in a big quilt. They deserve to shine as individual pillows like these!

  11. I love your cushions. I have a couple of redwork Christmas trees I did a few years ago. I think they would suit something similar and would match our new small lounge. I’ll ponder. I’m looking forward to seeing your beach huts progress further.
