I have been making scrappy baskets using this no waste method HERE.... sorting my scraps into colours as I build the little beach houses....
There were 3 colours that I needed to catch up on, yellow, blue and light neutrals so that's what I got up to on Sunday...
Firstly I made all the quilt as you go bases...
I have to admit I do like the look of them as mats... perhaps I will do scrappy mats next year....
After a bit of overlocking and wrestling with those stubby handles they were all done and filled with left over scraps ...
I seem to have lots of blue but hardly any yellows (I even included my oranges in that basket)
... and they have been added to my bookshelf.....
My Japanese blocks quilt is presently under the needle for evening handwork - sewing down the binding....
Righto, Gotto Go.... midweek has loomed and I am behind on grown up jobs....
Wonderful baskets and a nice way to store items and have something beautiful on the shelves.

What an awesome idea to store those scraps! And so beautiful too!
ReplyDeleteI love those scrappy baskets, they look so good together on the shelf
ReplyDeleteLove your scrappy baskets they look lovely on the shelf there. Binding is a great evening thing to do!
ReplyDeleteYour row of rainbow baskets is so pretty! I'm behind on grown-up stuff too......always behind......
ReplyDeleteThey are lovely, and I agree, they would look nice as table/place mats too! xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous line up of baskets xx
ReplyDeleteThe baskets are looking great all together. Good luck with your plans for tonight.
ReplyDeleteHi Fiona, how good do your baskets look on the shelf, well done xx
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic baskets...I think I will have to find time to give them a try.
ReplyDeleteYour baskets look đŸ‘€ beautiful sitting on the shelf....
ReplyDeleteBoy do I love those baskets - and I think the idea of mats is an excellent one! I have a lot of blue too, which is odd since it's not my favorite, lol.
ReplyDelete'Grown up jobs'??!! Oh golly are we supposed to do them, as well as sew?! Aren't your baskets as pretty as a picture all lined up on the shelves..good to see nearly a year's worth emerging.
ReplyDeleteThe row of baskets look great !
ReplyDeleteLove your baskets. Sew pretty all in a row. Hugs,xx
ReplyDeleteHate those grown up jobs - I hardly have any yellows oranges or reds either - they occupy the same amount of space as each of the other colours like blue purple green pink etc...I love the idea of these baskets - just no where to put them.
ReplyDeleteDoesn't everyone lump together their oranges and yellows? There never seems to be enough yellow, no matter what. I agree that your baskets look great in the mat stage, but even better as baskets :)
ReplyDeleteI love those baskets too. I think it is awesome how you made the pattern waste-less. They look great on the shelf. Organized and colourful; what's not to love? ;^)
ReplyDeleteOh I like this idea. So pretty having a rainbow of bags. I might have to copy your idea....
ReplyDeleteGreat baskets - I only got one made, where has the year gone! Yes they do look great as mats - that was my other plan too - oh well, there is always next year. xx
ReplyDeleteYour baskets looked great lined up on the shelves, Fiona.
