This week I promised myself some me sewing time with the machine so I could get on top of the Splendid Sampler blocks.... it's not a race but I fear if I get too far behind I will give up on them!!

... but I got it finished last night...

... and of course the latest block is out so I'm still not caught up but I made really good progress.
I love that there are so many different skills I am having to work with in these blocks - a true 'sampler' quilt... I'm learning lots about colour placement too and living with when I didn't make the best of the block.

Fiona, I think all your work is just gorgeous... I love your fabrics, skills & keeping up with it all... don't worry about being a block or two behind, you'll be fine! Goodness there's so much work in every block.

You've made some major progress! And you've inspired me to make a cone flower!! I know what you mean about getting behind. If I get too far behind on a project, I tend to just give up. Your quilt is going to be beautiful.

You have gotten a lot of beautiful blocks done and in a variety of styles. Paper piecing is something I haven't tried.
