I was pretty exhausted after waiting for little baby to arrive on Friday .....
Astrid Sophie is her name.... ( I think she was doing a little smile especially for me!)
... and she and her mum are home now.... all is good...
... we had a lovely sunset whilst we toasted her arrival...
... and in the evening for FNWF (thanks Dory aka Cheryl aka Chez for having us) I finished off the last stitches on this Michelle Ridgeway alphabet letter for a friend with an upcoming birthday ....
... and sewed a button on this Christmas postcard which is going to Brazil....
The next morning I checked my hoya plant....and its lovely honey drops...
... this plant just fascinates me... and this little spider was enjoying the honey I think....
... and we enjoyed the galah's over for breakfast....
... young widget came to stay... he also enjoyed his breakfast! ....
... today I wanted to change my rotary blade.... (all that trimming of HST's)....
... I had never noticed the warning signs before.... anyone use goggles when they are cutting?????
our hobby seems to be getting more and more dangerous.....
Righto, Gotto Go.... a bit of danger risk taking to do.... hmmmmm
I think I have to worry more about my fingers with a cutter, lol. Love the photo, such a sweet smile.

Love that smile! so glad to hear everything went ok with Astrid's birth. Lovely stitchery and post card and no I've never noticed that warning sign on my blade pkt what a laugh, I can just imagine quilters at 20 paces going engard like in fencing but using their rotary cutters instead of fencing blades lol :) Barb.
ReplyDeleteNow you know Astrid will be a happy baby, to be smiling already! She is too precious, what a great picture. Love that stitchery, really cute! And I love Widget's hat, he's adorable. Safety goggles? REALLY???? Guess I'll make do with living dangerously, lol!!!
ReplyDeleteOh Astrid is just gorgeous....happy post to read
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful photo of Astrid! She is smiling!! Your stitchery and postcard are beautiful. Sunset is a great time for a toast!!!! I have never seen a hoya dripping honey before...amazing! Hope you did your safety check before cutting!! lol!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful smile and no wonder with the name Astrid just gorgeous. Love your stitcheries :)
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, and I can see her grandma in her!
ReplyDeleteHello Fiona,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful name for the latest Grandie. What is the silver done with on the post card? So I can blame my patchwork mistakes on not having safety goggles!
Happy days.
Bev.
Welcome to the World, Astrid! A world where you proud & loving grandparents can see you through a computer & quilt makers must wear goggles to protect themselves from rampant rotary cutters...
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is gorgeous Fiona, love your idea of tracing & stitching from the fabric print...x
Widgets brekky looks like a dessert!
Sweet smile little Astrid xx
ReplyDeleteWhat's not to like about that breakfast :)
Astrid looks absolutely perfect. Such a cute face.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful letter B and postcard.
Boy man size waffles for Widget!
Might have to get some safety glasses, I might get a stray thread or bit of fluff in my eye...
OMG she is just precious and what a looker...I really want to cuddle her.
ReplyDeleteShe is one little cutie...your B is gorgeous...so I need some safety googles !!
ReplyDeleteLovely smile, glad Astrid and Mum are home and doing well. Love the little stitchery. What an unusual plant too. I know in these days of 'health and safety' they must print warnings, but really?! Enjoy Widgets visit. take care xcx
ReplyDeleteI can just see us all wearing our goggles right now!!!!
ReplyDeleteAstrid is looking so sweet and of course she is smiling for You!!
And breakfast at your place looks great.
Congratulations on the new grandbub! Many years ago I was told of a woman who shooed at a buzzing fly while using her rotary cutter, forgot the blade was out and took the top of her ear off in the process......so yes, it's a dangerous occupation indeed.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful photo of Astrid. Lovely Friday night stitching Fiona. I always think of my mum when I see hoyas - she loved to grow them
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet baby!! Love her name. You've sure been busy!! I love Michelle's alphabet letters. I think yours is the prettiest one I've seen!!

Haha, that's so funny Fiona. I hadn't noticed that safety note before.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your new granddaughter. She is gorgeous. As are your stitched letter and Christmas postcard. How will that button go on the way to Brazil? Do you put the postcard in an envelope to protect it or just send it like that?
Your other photos are beautiful too. Hope you have a wonderful week. Cheers, Tracy.

ReplyDeletea beautiful granddaughter, congratulations to you all. Loving your bluebird wall hanging the quilting is fantastic. Charming stars is my favorite quilt right now but my sewing room is packed up, so thanks for the eye candy! PS I am a Aussie and know nothing about our world famous horse race except its a good excuse to loose a few gold coins and wear a sweet hat - but so glad you won!
