Way back in June when it was cold I felt the urgent need to make a couple of scarves....
these were done with some large 'scraps' given to me by a friend.... I joined the pieces and purchased some more flannel for the back...
Well, now I have decided I don't really like them... just a bit too wide and bulky .... so I chopped up the two large ones....
and joined them together again.....
... then decided they needed a bit of extra gold to give them a bit of zing (Chris helped me choose.. thanks Chris if you are reading this... it's a perfect gold for what I wanted)
Hubz was busy doing his own deconstructing so I drew, cut, ironed and sewed....
... and now I have a new lap size quilt top....
It's really what I should have done in the first place.....
This is our porch where Hubz spent most of his Saturday.....
... hasn't even got the poles now....
... it's just bare cement... waiting for it's facelift.... so it will be all beautiful for Christmas...
I hope you managed something constructive over the weekend....
Righto, Gotto Go.... I want to tidy a shelf.... just one mind you... only can cope with one at a time!
OMG....you really are amazing....looks fantastic...can't wait to se the makeover...

ReplyDeleteFrom scarf to lap quilt! Genius. The addition of the stars is the perfect embellishment. Great job. I love your new lap quilt. Have you keep the flannel for the underside or is it all cotton?

ReplyDeleteThat little quilt is AWESOME!!!! I am in total love with this one!! My fave colors plus stars (luv)!!!! So much better than a scarf....LOL!!! Really like the design, too!!!! Hugs......
ReplyDeleteThe stars are a perfect touch - I think much better as a quilt too..looking forward to seeing the new verandah! How exciting...
ReplyDeleteClever little vegemite you are... I too think the scarves are bulky... Following the veranda make over xxx
ReplyDeleteI've seen those scarves and didn't think I'd like them either - too wide, not cuddly enough. I prefer yarn around my neck, or silk. I think it's brilliant what you did with it - the stars are the perfect touch!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love transformations! Your scarf-to-quilt transformation is fabulous. The addition of the stars is very clever. Can't wait to see your transformed patio!
