I have posted off a couple of secret parcels.......
these are for Chookyblue's SSCS swap and my parcels are off overseas... and another small one is staying local....
I started making my grandchildren their own personal stockings a few years ago .... this one was needed quickly to post off over seas so I based it on a ready printed panel....
.... she is lucky and has two sides to her stocking.... and it's big enough for her to use as a sleeping bag!
the pictures have been diddled up with quilting and buttons, bells and fuzzy noses and fluffy hat wool...
I received these lovely bauble buttons in a parcel a few years ago... absolutely perfect for this project
sparkly, jingly ausi animals....
.... I just had to add this cute little 'hand made' hand charm....
lots of quilting in a glitter thread.... you can't see it in the pictures very much but the stocking sparkles nicely...
.. so much sewing to get done ... I have moved into the dining area to sit under the aircon....
Hubz laughs at my 'princess and the pea' throne.... I need the height when I'm quilting or my shoulders hurt... however this bunch of cushions does squish down a fair bit!!!!!
Very busy trying to get all sorts of secret stitching done.... I am so grateful for these little balls of energy drink.....
Righto, gotta go... back to work
Love the 'Princess and the Pea'. I went out shopping for a chair cushion today because I'll be sitting on a meal folding chair most of the day tomorrow. Your stocking is very cute! Just how old is Astrid??

Cute, cute, cute stocking!!! I was having so much discomfort between my shoulder blades this spring/summer, I almost couldn't sew. I finally found a table that I could make low enough to accommodate my machine. Too many years of marathon sewing with it sitting atop the table!!

ReplyDeleteFiona you have done such a gorgeous job of Astrid's stocking
ReplyDeleteA very cute stocking! Sometimes we need more than one cushion, don't we - although a phone book (or two!) makes a good substitute.
ReplyDeleteOoh that stocking is so gorgeous, I love all the special touches! What a treasure! We all have stockings my mum made for us, they're crocheted and we adore them. Laughing at your sewing throne, lol!
ReplyDeleteLovely lot of projects worked on at your place lately! Love the stocking & so will the grandie... xox
ReplyDeleteLove your stack of cushions. My hubby tells me I am a princess and the pea because I feel every little grain of sand or wrinkle in the bed. Gorgeous stocking. May I suggest it is the size of a sleeping bag for one of her stuffies, not for her?! :)
