These stars are pretty fun to make...
Thanks Terry for hosting this charming star sewalong
... so now we are 8....
The Pattern for this fun quilt is found HERE on the Moda site..
On the hand stitching front I have done this cute stitchery by Anni Downs... it's for a bookmark.... someone asked me when I was doing it "Why would you want to do so much work for a bookmark?" "Good question..... because I can!"
Crafters are a bit crazy aren't we? but it's so much fun
This is from the book Anthea and Jeneta gave me... I love it...
I went to the Brisbane Craft Show yesterday... the best part was travelling with lovely friends and then meeting up with other lovely friends, the next best part was seeing an amazing array of quilts (they were celebrating 30 years so had winning quilts from other years there too .... I was too busy chatting to take pics!!! sorry for that)
Righto, Gotto Go.... today I seem to be very busy and achieving nothing....
loving those blocks so much!
ReplyDeleteI think that is going to be a beautiful book mark.
Did you get up to heaps of mischief that you didn't want any incriminating photos??

ReplyDeleteLovely stars. Love the bookmark. Hugs,xx
ReplyDeleteYour star blocks look great! I have eight done now too...I must get a picture of them tomorrow! :0)
ReplyDeleteYour star blocks look great in that range. I have made the same cute bookmark, and it's just so sweet, who cares how long it takes. Glad you enjoyed the show.
ReplyDeleteHey Fiona! Loving your sweetly shabby stars ... I might even have a crack at that block design now that I've seen how pretty yours are ... well ... one day! :0) As to your bookmark ... GORGEOUS! And if someone asks why put all that work into something so small ... remind them of the hours and YEARS of training that people put into running marathons and climbing mountains "because they're there!". Personally, I think stitching a bookmark makes so much more sense ... you've got something lovely to enjoy for years at the end of it ... what does a mountain climber have? Blisters, sore muscles and frostbite! We are SOOOO much smarter! Tee! Hee! Hee! Bear Hugs! KRIS xx
ReplyDeleteYour stars are so pretty! They would look lovely on my spare bed. :D
ReplyDeleteToo often crafters hear 'why would you...?' and worse sometimes followed by 'you've got too much time on your hands!' What a pleasure your bookmark will be every time it the book holding it is opened.
Those blocks are really pretty, I love how they're put together. I like your colours a lot. And that bookmark - I can't think of a more pleasant occupation than stitching, so I understand it completely! Glad you had fun but next time, pics, girl!!!
ReplyDeleteIt will be a lovely star quilt, Fiona, love your fabrics :-) Annie is such a talented designer, hope to do her small reindeer wall hanging soon, big May be really! Happy sewing, hope you enjoy the season at your end! Raining heavily here at the moment :-)
