Some progress with my swag of stars
I will be doing "Merry Christmas" and had a bit of extra linen so have done a couple of Gail Pan birdies
(The star swag pattern is by Nikki Tervo (Brandy Gully Designs)
.. and crochet edges have progressed too... I try and do a couple a day at least....
In my sewing/computer space I have a lovely big double window... lots of natural light and a great view of the bird feeder...
sometimes the birds are silly and fly into the window.... this week one flew extra hard ....
.. the bird flew off, I picked myself off the floor having thought my neighbour had fired off a shot at me!!!!
... and now the window is taped up well!
That's the view I have for when I am doing this ....

We have had some freezing mornings and beautiful days.... this was a sunset this week.. the view over the bird feeder.... (on the other side of the broken window!!!)
I wish I could pick up the colours like they really were ...
Righto, Gotto Go... still sewing .....
Oh my gosh I bet that nearly dropped you to the floor. SItting there in your happy place and what a noise they make..Did you need your Teena Lady?? xx
ReplyDeleteThat would have scared both you and the bird! I can see its friends on the feeder and on top of the shrub behind it. Good to see you haven't let a fright stop your quilting, too.
ReplyDeleteLoving your Christmas swag...you are so organised! Hmmm that bird would have scared the stuffing out of me too! Perhaps the insurance will buy you a new window? Maybe one of those dangly window decorations stain glass in them might reflect enough to stop the birds doing it again?? To nice a view to put up lace curtains :)
ReplyDeleteOver the years we have had birds do exactly the same thing. It does give you a fright.
ReplyDeleteIt happens here occasionally - under the pergola they fly straight into the kitchen window!! Silly things. Love KERRYNB's comment!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteOh that would have given you jolt. Love Keryn B's comment !!
ReplyDeleteWow! You really do have big birds in Australia. Birds do that here too but never to the point of breaking a window. Had it had been me, I would have needed a change of underpants for sure LOL. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteOrdinarily when they fly into the windows they give you such a fright but to actually break the glass no wonder you hit the floor. I am sure birdie panadol was required for poor silly bird. All your projects are progressing beautifully.
ReplyDeleteIt certainly gives you a fright when birds fly into the window. Your stars are looking great, Fiona.
ReplyDeleteChristmas preparations seem to be going well at your house. Glad that the damage was no worse. That bird must have one big headache, maybe it thinks that it is something else now - a dog or maybe a rabbit?
ReplyDeleteLove your xmas stars Fiona. Oh my goodness, no wonder you got a fright - such a beautiful view too
ReplyDeletePoor little birdies often fly into our windows too, it gives us both a shock. You have a lovely view to enjoy while you sew.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stars Fiona and you are going well on your blanket squares, its a shame about your window but i am glad it wasnt your neighbour taking a shot at you, lol. What a beautiful view you have outside your window Fiona and that sunset pic is gorgeous, well i hope you have an awesome day my friend.xx
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic sunset - great to have that out the window. Your birds need retraining so they fly away from the window!! We often get the same here...don't blame you for hitting the floor I would have too!! All your projects are lovely!!
ReplyDeleteHope you took time out for a recuperative drink after that fright!
ReplyDeleteLovely progress in sewing room.
The sky has been lovely here too, even if the temperature has been turned down.
Hello Fiona,
ReplyDeleteThey say Queenslander's do things bigger and better, obviously the birds are listening! Love the Christmas stitching, how many blocks are you making for the crochet/patchwork rug?
Happy days.
Bev.
Love how your stars came out, those will be nice on a tree. Scary having a bird do that, guess my windows are too dirty for them to run into mine;)
ReplyDeleteDebbie
Oh, that poor bird must have got quite a headache! Lovely quilting on the machine
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you haven't upset the neighbours lately...
ReplyDeleteGreat work on your stars and your crochet and you make the machine quilting look so easy.
That must have been a large bird... perhaps fired off with a slingshot! So much progress. It is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteyour stars look fantastic!
ReplyDeleteYou must be unpopular with your neighbour if you thought he had fired a shot your way? Poor bird he was probably more shocked than you lol.
Great post Fiona... full of exciting things...lol...
ReplyDeleteSo I guess your neighbour still loves you...but I bet that bird has a sore head...
Wow, good job the window didnt shatter, bet the bird was seeing stars. Talking of which really like your christmas stars, busy busy with lots of projects. Lovely view of the sunset too. xcx
ReplyDeleteI'd have hit the deck too, if that had happened here. We just get the silly pee wees making a mess on the windows. Your swag has turned out beautifully. Bring on Christmas so that it can be hung. I do love your machine quilting design. Super cute on a border.
ReplyDeleteGosh what a fright you hit Fiona....we gad that happen where we lived before! Just does make you jump! Great work there and I llove your quilting!
ReplyDeleteSo many pretty projects on the go. I love the Christmas stars. I can see what you jumped on the floor when the bird hit the window, it must have been a mighty whack to crack it.
ReplyDeleteOh..the heart would have been racing after that...love your projects...
ReplyDeleteWhat a surprise! Poor bird. Poor YOU!! Your machine quilting is so perfect. I hope I get that good!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness. Such a fright for both you & the bird. Love the projects. Hugs,xx
ReplyDeleteI think I would have jumped out of my skin, too, if that had happened here. I have never had one break a window before!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like good progress is being made on all projects. It is good to be indoors on these cold days.
Lovely sunset!
