As it was Easter Friday and a public holiday here in Australia I sewed all day whilst Hubz bottled a new brew .... Apple Cider... which I will enjoy in a few weeks...
I started these applique blocks some time ago and this week I started putting all the blocks together....
I started these applique blocks some time ago and this week I started putting all the blocks together....
...till they were all joined....
... then added the borders....
It's busy with those fabric choices, but I think it's fun for a little girl princess...
This pattern is Sweet Dreams and is by Kids Quilts..... I rediscovered how much I love doing hand applique....
Eldest Grandiegirl Chloe is getting this one....
I did do some hand-stitching in the evening... but it is secretive for the moment
Thanks Wendy for hosting us... best wishes for your FIL ...xx
so many commented about my nice tidy kitchen.... this is how it often looks....
yes, that's a hammer on the top .... I needed feet on a bag.. where else does one do it but on the kitchen bench... and then I wanted to make ginger and nut loaf... in my new tins.... and I washed those collectable beer glasses a friend gave me for Hubz new hobby and then made cauliflower soup.... and we keep the fish food there so it is easy to access .... and the dog's pills too....
... so my kitchen is not really a tidy place...
Righto, Gotto Go.... tea and a slice of ginger and nut I think.... and have a look at what everyone else did for FNSI
I love the pretty, colourful quilt.

ReplyDeleteLove the way the blocks have come together. The fabrics are lovely and the colours vibrant and fun. Gorgeous border, too. Your little princess should love it!!
Don't know what you are talking about regarding the kitchen. I can still see bench space so all is fine by me!
Oh??? Kitchen benches are meant to be cleared and tidy??? hard to do that when you are cooking up a storm. Chloe's quilt is lovely - perfect for a little girl.
ReplyDeleteThat is such a perfect princess quilt! I love all the bright colours.
ReplyDeleteI'm also embarrassed to admit your messy kitchen is more like mine AFTER I've tidied up.
Chloe's quilt is just gorgeous, Fiona. I know she is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt, gorgeous colours.....I am off to my kitchen now to make tomatoe relish....yours looks productuve x

ReplyDeleteThat quilt is all kinds of happy.
ReplyDeleteLucky princess.
Nice kitchen, glad to see it's the place where all the action is.
Such a pretty happy bright quilt for Chloe. She'll love it....
ReplyDeleteI had to look hard for that hammer but I did find it.....
Well there's a happy kitchen if I ever saw one. A kitchen in used is a happy one, in my world anyway. My house is for sale so I try (I did say try) to keep the kitchen clean and then I feel like a stranger in my own kitchen. I love it when it is used and loved. Talking about love, I do love your Princess quilt now. I have to admit that it was not love at first sight but, with the borders, it brings order in the colours and I do love it now. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWow that is such a beautifully cheerful quilt. I hope your granddaughter loves it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful bright quilt for a little princess. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteLove your Princess quilt as I'm sure your Grandie will as well when she receives it. Isn't this how a kitchen is supposed to look 99.9% off the time?? loved and well lived in I say :) Barb.
ReplyDeleteThat does look like a perfect princess quilt. I just push stuff out of the way when I take pictures LOL. No one needs to know all my secrets. xx debbie
ReplyDeleteLovely quilt so bright and cheery I am sure it will be well loved.
ReplyDeleteThe colours of your quilt are so bright and bold, lovely, your grandaughter will be thrilled with it. My kitchen looks like a bomb has gone off
ReplyDeleteI love the quilt - the colours look so good together and it is lovely and cheeful. Love the kitchen pic too - a proper kitchen, like mine, not a showpiece. xx
ReplyDeleteNewbie Popping in from FNSI, gorgeous work.
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen looks likke ours lol
Happy Easter
I'm sure that grandiegirl is going to love her new quilt....enjoy your apple cider when i's ready....and I'm sure that majority of our kitchens are not quite up to show room quality!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, your Chloe is going to love this, it is a stunner! Love those bright girly colours...
ReplyDeleteI am happy to see a normal bench at your place too, mine isn't even fit for a photo!
Lovely quilt, such pretty bright colours. That is a very normal looking kitchen bench, they're always hard to keep tidy :) Hugs Wendy
ReplyDeleteThat's a very cute quilt. Such happy colors.
ReplyDeleteI love the gorgeous colours in that quilt. It is really lovely.
