This is my secret swap cushion cover ....
there is a bit of hand applique, patchwork and hand quilting in there
and I just love the jumbo ric-rac around the edge
and I just love the jumbo ric-rac around the edge
.... the back has piecing too....
This is "Pillow" from Anni Downs "Some Kind of Wonderful"....
...... I can't tell you who it is going to.... it's a secret....
... I hope she likes it ...
the request was blue and green... I hope the artistic licence carries me through!!
I have made it before and gave that one away too... one day I'm going to make one of them for myself.....
so hot so I have been using the lounge to sit and sew
I've been finishing off little stitcheries... these were for last Christmas!
... and chosen the fabric I am going to bind and link them up with for the banner...
... but that will be for finishing another day....
Stitcheries from Sew Happy Me
- it was a free Sewalong in 2011 (you can tell how long I have been meaning to do it now!)
The thread is some that my daughter in law gave me... samples for weaving scarves.... it sews fine but not as smoothly as proper embroidery cotton... however I like the colours
I have been complaining about the heat..... I looked at this map today and realised I have little to complain about.....

ReplyDeleteYour cushion is wonderful. The person you swap with is going to be very lucky!!!
ReplyDeleteI think I may have some of those stitcheries hiding away, too. Oh, dear!
The fires are frightening. I saw a similar map and it is stunning how widespread the fires are. Normally this does not happen in such a big state. And it worries me that we are still only in the early part of Summer fire season!!
Love your cushion and all the piecing! and adore the Christmas stitcheries..
ReplyDeleteSo terrible about the fires and loss of homes and livlihoods.
That is such and adorable cushion, I wish i was your partner. Hugs, Sue xx
ReplyDeleteIt breaks my heart to hear of the fires in Australia, I can only imagine how those people feel. Love the cushion and the stitcheries. Hugs x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cushion!!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your cushion will be loved wherever it goes. Yes, it's one thing to be hot, but quite another to be in danger from it. A big downpour of rain would be lovely thanks.

ReplyDeleteAwesome cushion. Your partner is a lucky girl.
ReplyDeleteI'VE SEEN THE NEWS ABOUT SOME AWFUL FIRE IN NSW. I just hope the situation will be better by now.
Gorgeous cushion & the giant ric-rac adds something new & funky. I love the stitchery especially the snowman. I'm surprised he's still in tact & not just a puddle by now. Yes, those of us out of the firey states currently have little to complain about. Tracee xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work again, Fiona. Such lovely stitcheries, and wow to the cushion. Think I will have to make one of those too. The fires are a worry arent they. It is hard to imagine so many of them throughout one state.
