The first of June is the first official day of Winter here in Australia ..... and we have a cold and damp day here in SE Queensland... so I am rugged up and I have the electric blanket out to put on the bed ...
I was partnered up with a 'new to me' blogger for my Winter swap.... Deb from Frog Cottage Designs.... and I tossed and turned what to make....
I have the pattern for a quilt called Seasons of the Heart (one of the many on my to do list) by Leanne Knell of Petals and Patches and Winter is one of the blocks on the quilt so I made it into a mini quilt which could be used as a table top or a wall hanging (there is a hanging strip attached)
there are snowflakes....
and woolen mittens and a beanie....
a snowman and little blocks .......
piecing...
... stitcheries...
all matched up with warm coloured fabrics for the blocks and borders
it worked out to be about 18" square
... each section was such fun to do..... Debs has received it and sounds chuffed.... phew... never quite sure what to make for a designer!!
Deb has a lovely blog ..... some craft, some family bits, some food (can you spot the similarity) ..... now she has her gift I can stalk her more regularly..... you should pop over HERE for a read if you don't already.
Righto, Gotto Go.... my hot water bottle needs re-heating ......
