It's almost time for the next block of Harrington and Hannah so I'm glad to have got mine done
cute little birds and flowers with the bunnies this time
and here is all 3 in a row
I quite like tea... (you may have noticed if you have been reading here a while....)
Hibiscus tea is quite fun... it apparently has health benefits (Vitamin C and lower blood pressure) but I like making it for fun really..
.. and a bit of magic...
pick some fresh flowers and split the petals off....
drop them into your jar or glass (heat resistant)
cover with boiling water... the flowers go limp and colourless...
after a bit of a soak take the flowers out... you will have a magenta/purpley liquid
drop in some lemon and it goes a lovely vivid red again...
(I couldn't capture the radical change in the pictures so you will have to trust me... or try it yourself!)
add a bit of honey and there is your relaxing and refreshing drink..... actually I don't find there is much flavour at all
but I like the idea of healthy tea
and the pretty colour
and the pretty colour
and the magic...
Righto, Gotta Go... Thursday is Trapunto day with the gals ....
All those bunnies are SO sweet! Hannah and Harrington are happy little creatures!

I love Hibiscus Tea. I learnt to make it at a cooking school in Bali and I use lime juice and palm sugar. Delicious! and it impresses the grandies that I can make the magic colours happen.

LOVE your blocks so much! And the tea is a wonderful idea, I'm going to have to try that. Hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers, they're so extravagant...
ReplyDeleteI've never seen that done with hibiscus before..Mum always had lots of hibiscus growing in the garden when we were growing up but it is too cold in the winter here for me to grow them so I will just have to imagine what it would be like from your description..lovely bunny blocks..
ReplyDeleteYour H&H blocks are beautiful! When I was in China I had many different kinds of tea made from flowers, the pots were beautiful to look at as well as delicious!
ReplyDeleteYour bunny blocks are lovely, you are doing very well to keep up! I'm a bit boring when it comes to tea - just a plain black variety!
