The last finish for OPAM for December 2011...
My youngest daughter has been complaining that she didn't have her very own quilt made by me.... so deciding on her Christmas gift this year was easy.....
Step 1: find yummy fabric
(I bought 1/2m of 9 mixed browns,
70cm of a dark brown for the border and
1/2 m extra of the dots for the binding - because I looooove dotty binding)

Step 4: pin unmercifully ....

Step 6: it is useful to have a multi-purpose template for this process....
Step 7: sing along quilting with 'Precious'...

What a lovely finish and a beautiful selection of fabrics
Great quilt! Tell me, is your quilting technique better (or worse!) after the Wolf Blass?!?!?
It looks fantastic!! What a gorgeous quilt. Love the quilting. Bit worried about that glass of wine! Is it half full or half empty?
Oh my goodness!! I love it too. It always amazes me how a D9P can look so different depending on what fabric you use. I think I need to get some "multi purpose templates" if they help with the quilting.... Hugs x
Great quilt...love the fabrics. The pin shot is fun...love your quilting templates...to loosen you up?
It's lovely I can see why she likes it so much. The red looks good too.

Lovely. It looks so good. Great fabrics. What a wonderful gift.
I do like the idea of having the wine as part of the process.
This is such a gorgeous quilt Fiona!!! I am not surprised she loves it!!! And how clever are you using multi-purpose templates, lol! Did it affect the quilting quality or were you able to stop at one glass of that yumminess?! Lol! So clever!!! Hugs!!
No wonder she loves it, it's gorgeous. Reminds me how wonderful browns can be.

I love it too, what a gorgeous quilt and I am amazed you managed to do those feathers and other fancy quilting on your machine , I have a hard enough time going in a straight line ,terrific job!! Congrats on a great finish for 2011 .
How couldn't she love it? It's a wonderful quilt. I love the colors and seeing you quilt in that small machine gave me the courage to try the same stunt with my queen size quilt top. I made it some months ago and I still haven't even sandwich it.
Happy New Year!!!

ha ha ha...love your process...especially the multi-purpose templating and the singalong quilting :)...good bed size yes but that quilt makes me want to cuddle up with it on the couch on a cold wintery night, it looks so darn cosy and wraparoundable...
Great quilt. I love the chocolate brown!
What a beautiful quilt Fiona! You are amazing to do all that gorgeous quilting yourself, even with the help of a multi-purpose template! (Though my quilting would get even worse with too much of that LOL)
Happy New Year to you and your family!

Fantastic project - and who said you needed to buy expensive quilting templates?...I have an abundance of those cheapies just lying around waiting to be used...and I'll bet they help with technique too!!
Your daughters quilt turned out gorgeous. She is a lucky girl. I love the polka dots you used.
Hugs,
donna
