What is it about men?

Just wondering if it is inherant in men that they can't put things away in the right place???

I had been working on my blocks for swapping this weekend... I had just made this one

...... and then decided I wanted to make my favourite magic mayonnaise that my granny used to make, and my mummy used to make and that I just love, love love.... and with warm weather and wanting more salads I thought granny's magic mayonnaise would be an excellent idea....

Now you know how very very fond I am of Hubz and I am very grateful for the wonderful things he makes me .... and I don't mean to whinge about him.....

but if you don't know where it goes WHY CAN'T YOU ASK?

It's like that asking for directions thing...

..... what is with that?

so I'm looking for that little plastic white bowl that is just the right size..... it's real Tupperware you see....

The blue lid is in the cupboard.....

So I hunted and hunted ....

...... and sighed......

...... then groaned......

...... then shouted ......

and Hubz got fed up and went to read his book in silence....

then I didn't feel like making granny's magic mayonnaise anymore

so I went to hide in the sewing room and make the blocks for this months block swaps ...

I'm still using my half square triangles as leaders and enders

Ooooops

I must go... I think my darling darling Hubz would like cake with his tea tonight

I did get the other block made ....

.... I'm thinking chocolate cake with strawberries and cream ....

  2. You cracked me up. I think we all do that because so often it is the case. But every now and then we slip up!

  3. LOL, I love it! You sound just like me with your frustrations when you can't find something and you KNOW that someone else has had it! ;-) Love his headphones.

  5. I hope you gave hubby a good telling off for using the tupperware bowl to put your fabric in, honestly, couldn't he find something else!!! I love the picture of him reading his book, not showing that to my hubby or he will want some. This reminded me of our biking holidays, we have an intercom so we can speak to each other....I only found out years later there was an on/off switch so he could turn me off any time he wanted!!!!!!!!!! And there was me thinking he just couldn't hear me above the noise of the motorbike!! Got to love em. xx

  8. Now who put that container in your sewing room? How sneaky is that to make it look like you misplaced it?

  9. Oh dear Fiona. Had to have a laugh at that. Poor Hubby. What is granny's magic mayonnaise? I'm curious to know if it's the one my Mum used to make. I started a vanilla bean in vodka over the weekend. Hugs,

  10. Hello Fiona,

I hope there is cake and mayonaise for tea, not together though. You must reveal the recipe if you can be bothered. After all you have had a busy day!!!
    Happy Monday.

  17. OOPS! LOL!! Think of the brownie points you'll get when you announce, humbly and while bearing yummy cake, that you realized it wasn't him that lost the bowl after all - brownie points can be cashed in for good CRAFTIN' stuff! :)

I love the picture of him with the earphones on ... "I'm NOT LISTENING TO HER!"

  18. I just left a comment and then it disappeared...

    Let me try this again!

I don't like when that happens, but it seems to happen often at our house... Maybe I should suggest a pair of headphones for my husband too. So he can escape me whenever he needs some quiet time, hee hee!

  19. Ha ha ha... I am laughing so hard because that is exactly something that I would do! However, Jeff is notoriously bad about putting things away in the wrong places...I one time found the roll of tin foil in the fridge....and even worse, he puts EMPTY containers back into the cupboards and even the refrigerator. For example, there was a box of cookies in the cupboard the other day and I thought, "oh good, I'll have a couple with my tea" so I made the tea and went to open the box to get the cookies and it was COMPLETELY empty! Grrrrr....that was definitely a disappointment!

Hope Hubz enjoyed his lovely cake! :o)

    XOXO,

    Cyndi

  20. I know that feeling all too well. I keep things so I can find them, and when I can't, I get so tired of looking, I give up, lol.

  25. Don't you just hate that!! My hubby doesn't do dishes, I am so safe! Love the ear muffs...

  26. At our house.....this situation is immediately followed by someone having to say "You were right, I was wrong" 3 times in a row....the faster the better!

The other day.....I was wrong 3 times and it wasn't even noon yet! All I could come up with was....the world was askew! lol

  27. Oh great! He gets to eat cake and you have to eat your words! No fair! :D

  28. Ohh is that lovely block for me??!!

  29. ha, ha, hilarious! I would have hidden the tub in his work bag and told him it was clearly him!! My husband doesn't put anything away, we've lived in our house for 4 years and he still claims not to know where "I keep things"!

  31. OMG! I "lost" a small plate a while ago...convinced that one of the kids had thrown it out or broken it and not fessed up...guess where I found it? ...mmmmm in the sewing room on the small cupboard under the ironing board....yep, me!I had done it!
love your Hubz reading his book...I think I would like some when I'm in sewing mode!
