I like to keep different projects in their own little plastic containers.... where all the thread etc is so I can pick up and go sew......
I also like to thread several needles at a time...... can you see them there on a piece of scrap felted blanket?
well - they don't have to live on a piece of scrap anymore......
Melody sent me this fantastic little fellow (his name is Mr Owl) who stores my needles and has a little pocket to care for my thimble (can you see his tummy is bulging?)
Mr Owl is such a character - and very handsome in his bright colours so I can find him easily and has no problem with carrying flowers for me
Thanks Melody - we have already made great friends and spent an afternoon together working on my Christmas Club item which I am doing with Cookies and Cream Crafts...
I have finished my Backstitch homework lesson with Helen
I'm getting quite good practice doing these lessons
and my July Birdie Stitches from Little Miss Shabby
these stitcheries use 6 thread and finish quite quickly
(so does the thread!!)

(I made a few adaptions as these two have immigrated to Australia - we don't celebrate 4th of July but we do love fireworks)
Here's hoping you spend some time in your Happy Place

Love your little owl. He is so cute.
Your birdie block turned out great and I like your backstitch homework lesson. Wonder if it is too late to add this project to my list? Guess I will need to check into it. Nola
Your needle and thimble holder is a real hoot! How nice of Melody to do that!
FrIeNdS.. ya can't beat em! :)
I am Loving that little owl needle & thimble holder - so cute! And your stitcheries - beautiful!!
I have been making copies of the little birdies designs so that when I get a chance to make this quilt I have it all ready there for me. When I saw that July was a 'Fourth of July' fireworks pattern I was happy I am a Territorian - we have fireworks on the 1st to celebrate Territory Day! I believe we are one of the only states in Australia still allowed to set their own fireworks off with approx 4-5 hours of fireworky-goodness time legally allowed!!
Fiona, all your stitcheries are beautiful. Mr owl is absolutely gorgeous. His big eyes, the flowers and his fat belly make him cuter than cute! I do something similar with my on the go projects. I keep them separately in fabric bags, then keep all those in a big box from Ikea. It saves me searching when I have put things in a safe place! lol
Your little owl is soooo cute. Well done Melody! You have lots of lovely stitching happening there Fiona....Gorgeous!
I like to thread several needles too. When working on the pin cushion top I had several needles with several colours of thread going so I could just stitch what struck my fancy. Cute little owl needle case!
What a dear Melody is to make that little owl for you, he's delightful! Your blocks look great - I don't think I'll do my birdy stitches in 6 strands, but it sure looks good!
So much lovely sewing going on at your place. So glad you like you little owl. Hugs.
Your stitching is lovely I love the little birds, and what a fabulous idea for your needles and thimble a cute little owl.

That owl is cute as can be!! I wish I had the time to work on my stitching as much as you do. I will find it though. I think I might cut my blog time down a bit.
