A Wonderul Quilt Giveaway ......

Mr Blogger has put this post as a Draft even though I know I posted it... I have a bunch of comments in my inbox.....

Mr Blogger also changed my identity name to my husbands name ...... what a shock to have Hubz sign my comments!!!

Mr Blogger provides a free service and I know he is so popular so he must have a lot of demands on his free time so I'm not really cross with him ......

Mr Blogger is very much appreciated.... I did miss him terribly whilst he was away for a few days.....

Have a wonderful weekend....

I am lucky enough to live close by The Quilters Angel who have been carrying out a wonderful drive and hosting us at the shop to stitch, stitch, stitch......  and it was great to get to know Marion and her daughter Steph... and some of you may know Kris (co-host of OPAM) - we got chatting and giggling a few times too....

The generosity of people has been astounding.... there has been completed quilts, fabric, sewing notions, even a couple of machines, magazines, toys and more donated......

You can see some of the finished quilts HERE on the Quilters Angel's blog

Last weekend Marion organised a bus load of us to go down with 100 quilts... and of course snacks for tea (well... they do go together don't they?) to distribute to a community who have been having tough times for the last few months.....

It was very sobering to drive through the town of Grantham which was devastated by a wall of water, and I have to admit to shedding tears at the sight of wrecked homes, cars leaning up against trees and ruined creek beds.... The clean up has been amazing but there are still some very obvious signs of the ordeal.

I wanted to write this and show some pictures.... really as a way of thanking people for their donations and to show you how these quilts have warmed some hearts...  I think the very best was the faces of children when they saw a quilt they loved and wrapped it around them.....

Khris has some more pictures HERE and a great read too..... (Maria I wonder if you will recognise me by my bag?????)
