Tuesday Treasure

As long as I can remember I have enjoyed reading Beatrix Potter stories.... to myself, to my children and now I get lucky enough to read them to grandiechildrens........

My Beatrix Potter book collection is minimal.... I need to keep a look out to add to it....

Her pictures are always so cute and detailed ......

I wouldn't mind my mouse infestation if they did some stitching at night!! (The Tailor of Gloucestershire)

So many much loved characters.....

Kittens full of mischief............

When my first son was born (he's 30 now!!) we were sent this lovely little egg cup...

"Peter sat down to rest;"

"he was very damp with sitting in that can."

It is a Wedgewood creation and is still used for 'special occasions'.... like grandie visits.........

How delighted I was to find a panel to make a fabric book......

A story of Benjamin Bunny and Peter Rabbit......

Make your own book.... what fun....

I loved the film "Miss Potter" - a true story with Renee Zelwegger and Ewan McGregor

I cried and cried for her ...... losing her love....

I am joining in with Melody's Tuesday Treasure today....

the wonderful characters of Beatrix Potter

  1. I love them too. I have a nice collectors book that I picked up at a yard sale. I pick up lots of classic books that way. I just love them!

  2. Oh Fiona...I am right there with you. Beatrix Potter is a favourite of mine also. My Mum bought my daughter the whole set of "little books" back from the UK when she was tiny and we had hours of fun reading them. They still live at my house. I loved the movie too.
Thank you for your lovely post I really enjoyed it.

  9. Love Beatrix Potter as well. I have a complete set of the books bought cheaply from the bookman who comes to our office every month. I also have fabric, patterns and other treasures put aside for one of my girls, who also loves Beatrix Potter, and hopefully will provide me with a grandchild.

  11. I love Beatrix Potter too Fiona. Many years ago my Gran took my sister and I to the ballet and we saw BP done in ballet. It was wonderful, I wish I'd kept the program!!!! We still have all the books and some of them are very worn from all the "read it to me again"s.
Loved the movie too... would love to go to her house... one day!

  13. How can anyone not love Beatrix & her sweet characters. I think the movie Miss Potter really brought the characters to life in such a heart warming way that made me fall in love with them all over again. I also did a lot of crying at the end of that movie. Tracee xx

  22. I love Beatrix Potter, too. Our son, Peter was given a number of Peter Rabbit memorabilia. I completed some cross stitches when he was little. He probably wouldn't be that thrilled to be reminded now. Loved the movie, too. Thanks for reminding me of those lovely times with your treasured memories.
